I know exactly what you're talking about with both the white out and the rain. The first time i went to whistler a couple years back, i got to the top of blackcomb and i couldn't see three feet in front of me. I was actually scared for my life. I had never been to the top before, and i had no idea where to go. Every few feet i vaguely saw cliff signs, and mind you, that's only because i was putting my face directly into the sign. I seriously thought i was going to die from falling over a cliff.

Last time i was there it rained the first day. Then it decided to get cold as and the entire mountain froze. You couldn't even ride because everything was ice, i mean everything. THe winds were also crazy that day so you couldn't go to the peak and hit the powder on the peak. It was probably the worst day of snowboarding EVER. I was surprised. However, it then snowed about a 15 inches in the next two days. Needless to say, those were probably the best two days.

yeah a vancouver friend told us we went the wrong time of the year. it's kinda rainy season around march for the entire pacific northwest. i just felt uncomfortable the whole time on the mountain. i'm disappointed that i missed out on the bowls and would've loved to have done another glacier run or two.

Thanks,,,i try to take pics but im never patient enough to wait and get good ones. Either way, pictures can't do that place justice. It's definitely the one of the most naturally beautiful places.

Try snowboarding in the middle of june. I hit up mammoth last summer. My goggle tan was pretty intense. I've also been to hood in the summer, august a few years back. Its pretty good, but when the snowboard camps open they take over the mountain and there's nothing really open for those not in the camps. Fortunately i had a park pass from high cascade.

I'm probably going to whistler again at the end of may or beginning of june, or Hood in the beginning of august. I just can't let go.

I remember doing that last winter. Except it was up the mountain on the opposite side of the valley on the backside of blackcomb peak, in garibaldi provincal park. SICK!!!!!!!!!!!! The 2 hour hike was well worth it.

hah our climb wasn't SOOO bad. from the signage up to the ledge there. and then walk on the ledge towards the left in that picture. i'd say a good 15 minute hike. what a blast. it was like swimming into a milky sea, not knowing what to expect.
