Stratton was really good. Probably the best day of snowboarding of all the days i went there this year (6 times). The snow was light and fluffy, and fast as . And the parks were still in pretty good shape for the final weekend.

the people i was with all weekend were there on friday, i guess before the storms hit. they didn't like the conditions and not much of the mountain was open. stratton was amazing, most of the runs had decent amounts of snow... with the occasional east coast ice patch of course. i had much more fun at stratton than at whistler. good way for me to cap off the season. i'm gonna post some crap in the coming days. just so lazy.
*edit* pond skimming was highly entertaining. especially banana hammock guy. :wtf:

woooooooooooooooooooow....you had more fun at stratton than whistler?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I refuse to believe that's possible. Either it rained the entire time you were there, you didn't truly experience all of whistler's terrain, or you aren't into bowls, chutes, cliffs, cornices, steeps, or terrain parks.
There's simply nothing better at stratton than either whistler or blackcomb.

lots of rain. bad visibility because of whiteout conditions at the higher elevations. and if harmony, symphony, and the t-bars are closed, i really can't do anything. i'm not a total dunce. :rolleyes: i got to experience blackcomb glacier once and it was an eye-opener for me. the potential at whistler's there, i just hope the next time i go, more of the mountain will be open and that i can actually see what i'm doing.

sorry....i wasn't implying you were stupid or anything. its just that a statement like that without any reasoning is quite surprising. Im sure you can understand that.
I know exactly what you're talking about with both the white out and the rain. The first time i went to whistler a couple years back, i got to the top of blackcomb and i couldn't see three feet in front of me. I was actually scared for my life. I had never been to the top before, and i had no idea where to go. Every few feet i vaguely saw cliff signs, and mind you, that's only because i was putting my face directly into the sign. I seriously thought i was going to die from falling over a cliff.
Last time i was there it rained the first day. Then it decided to get cold as and the entire mountain froze. You couldn't even ride because everything was ice, i mean everything. THe winds were also crazy that day so you couldn't go to the peak and hit the powder on the peak. It was probably the worst day of snowboarding EVER. I was surprised. However, it then snowed about a 15 inches in the next two days. Needless to say, those were probably the best two days.

it was nice to be back out there, mt snow was nice, plenty of powder and the conditions were great. took some closed off powder runs only to run over some rocks from the thin coverage, other than that, it was a perfect day riding. didn't hit the terrain park just took countless runs. it was pretty empty at snow too which was nice at the lift lines
i must really be spoiled though, vt cold is like none-other. it just bites ya
