| getting back on topic.... my gf wants to take a weekend out to go snowboarding.... i've never gone but she has a couple times which should be interesting. anyway my ? is: what are some good places to go that are not too far from northern nj and not too expensive for a full package (hotel,rentals....) |

don't go to creek. make the drive out to the poconos, there're a few places there. i like camelback out there. check out the first page of this thread, there're links to some of the mountains out there. |

Yea i'd recommend camelback, they have a bunch of decent things in the area that you can choose to do other than snowboarding. Some decent places to eat as well. Also happens to be an outlet right at the exit for camelback in case you want to do some of that shopping.
let us know which weekend you plan on being out there and we'll come out to ride with ya..give you pointers and suggestions and stuff |

I'm guessing Emilio's will have a Sat-Sun trip for Thanksgiving weekend to Okemo or Stratton? Loooooookkksss goooooodd... lace up mothaas.
Started running today again for two reasons... one, I wanna run again... two, will keep me in shape and on the slopes longer this season!! :crazy: |

I lied, Saturday Nov 25 is Okemo day trip, Sunday Nov 26 is Hunter day trip at Emilio's ...
or we can drive up ourselves to spend more than 1 day. |

I was always interested in snowboarding skiing. I finally went snowboarding for the first time in my life in january 2006. The first few hours were very painful. My friend thought it would be okay to take me on the biggest hill they have at mountain creek, NJ. Well at least half of the way down was on my knees. After much pain, i went back to the kiddie hill. I finally got the hang of it. I was doing very good until my board caught the edge and sent me flying. I think i flew about 5-7 feet right on my head with my hands behind me. I blacked out for like 5 secs and just laid there for 10 mins. That was the end of my day. The next day at work was very though.
I cant wait to go snowboarding again. I want to try out the short skis though. |

Same as I was thinking... Emilio's trip to Okemo on Saturday for $75??
