If you check page one, there's a few links and info there about sizing out your board. This might help a bit before you run into a store and consult one of their sales people.
First things first, Salomon is an EXCEPTIONALLY great company. Their boot technology is hands down the most comfortable, durable, yet stylish out there. The lacing technology I think out beats the BOA system. BOA system is a turnstile metal cable system with plates along easy pressure points from the ankle on up, great system nonetheless just all preference.
I would recommend packages for beginners only because you just want to strap in and learn to ride it. I would say a packaged board, boot, binding combo should last you a good 2 years. Soon after you'll learn about flex and pop, response, and width. The longer the board the faster you go and the wider the board the more control you have.
If you've rode a few times and understand what fits your preferences then maybe it'd be better to piece it together. Outside of the response preferences, i'd have to say its all Branding Rep and Design.
Afterall, it's all about looking good...it doesn't matter how you ride, just as long as you look good doing it! LOL and of course go big or go home! |

cool..
camelback def. has their act together more than shawnee with regard to their park / pipe... but as for free riding, i.e. natural features, i've always like shawnee more..
mountain creek hands down has the best park / pipe south of vermont on the east coast though imo.... it's just sooooo busy all the time. |

I'll never ride at Mountain Creek - I am highly against that resort
here's why...
| quote: | VERNON, N.J. - A ski lift at the Mountain Creek resort was knocked off its tracks Wednesday by a strong gust of wind, leaving 15 to 20 people dangling in cable cars for about an hour.
The skiers were traveling in four gondolas - enclosed cars suspended from a cable - to the top of a mountain trail at 9:59 a.m. when a gondola that was headed down the mountain derailed because of a strong gust of wind, halting the entire lift, said Shannon McSweeney, spokeswoman for Mountain Creek.
McSweeney said she was informed at about 11:05 a.m. that the downhill gondola was righted and that the lift was restarted to get the skiers to the top of the mountain. The lift was then closed while the state investigates the mishap.
