| as experienced i am on the mountain i can honestly say mt hood is unreal. i can see how people can get lost in that mountain range and pine forest tree lines. indeed it is scary i wouldn't venture any back country out in hood, it gets real dense real quick and once your knee deep in snow you can lose your bearing REALLY QUICKLY. |

when i was in the army i used to be part of a counter terrorist team...we used to carry these things called fireflies...if you was MIA you could click it on and it would beam signals to sattelites so that you could be located....
they were inexpensive aswell....i think you people and climbers should be made to carry them.... |

if you go in the backcountry you should carry an avalanche transponder (it sends a radio frequency to other transponders). If you don't you're stupid. I think these guys were carrying them, that's why they just found them a bit ago.
this article says they were found because of the avalanche locators. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17219953/ |

during my last run of the day, i caught edges twice while trying to toe turn in the terrain park. i fell right before a jump, and then again right after when i was getting out of the way. the 2nd time i caught an edge, i'm not sure what happened, but i fell in such a way that i heard a huge snap. i thought i broke the board in half, but my left leg was free. turns out the binding was broken in half instead. |

| ok so i just got back from 9 days in tahoe (squaw and alpine meadows). i set a personel record by riding 7 straight days, 8 of 9. my bf rode 9. we had some sweet powder the first few days and nasty east coast conditions today. i think i am going back up this weekend. we are supposed to get another storm later this week. :) |

nah i'm going to warranty it. probably the binding was already weak when i tried to toe turn, that's why it didn't respond |
