Yeah, very soft refereeing throughout. Already talk of a FIFA conspiracy to let Brazil win and keep the people happy. The truth is that host nations always get a lot of soft decisions from the refs (look at South Korea in 2002). as it may be, it's simple psychology. Do you want to be the one who pisses off 200,000,000 people in the country you're living in for the next month?
I had Brazil down to win 3-1 though, so I'm fairly happy. |

| AFAIK there is no replay, but they can review plays later and sanction players, but what is the point of that. it's really discouraging to see players get away with this tactics and almost makes me lose faith in the integrity of the game. |

| They can review incidents that were missed by the referee or assistants, but not incidents the referee claims to have seen. To do so undermines the authority of the referee during the match. |

The defender's hand over Fred's shoulder gave the ref a good excuse to give the foul. During live play, from the referee's point of view, that very well could have looked like a foul and penalty since it was inside the box. When we look at the replay, it is in no way, shape, or form, a foul. This is going to happen from time to time when a human must make a judgement call in a split second. There is no escaping that.
Regardless, Brazil won 3-1 and were the better team. Bom jogo. :) |

jumping -> heading the ball != fault even if you hit the goalkeeper. Referee is from Japan, he had no idea what he was doing (racism card ect. but yeah, Japan is 0-time when it comes to fotball/soccer). I came into this game rooting for Brazil and left hating everything about the team because of that ing referee. |

He crashed into Cesar before any contact was made from him on the ball.

after reviewing the footage I have to concede that point.
still - the penalty, that in my opinion turned the match, was so far off it's an insult |
