Pretty much the opposite. We are ALREADY in the game 3 and the team did not evolve, mostly because of Paulinho's atrocious performances. At the Confederations Cup he was what we call the 'surprise man' (not sure how you say this in English), you know, the intelligent midfielder that shows up at front and score goals. Ramires or Fernandinho should be tested against Cameroon. Dani Alves is also playing way worst than he normally does (not that i think he is very good too). Maicon is not on his best days but he can be more consistent defensively at least.
About Neymar as a false 9, a lot of people here in Brazil are saying this could be our best option given how Fred is performing and how our midfield has not been creative. However, this can work only with Oscar and Wilian playing together, in my opinion.
EDIT: Another option is Hulk instead of Fred. |

The problem is, you have very little options on the flanks running Neymar as a false 9. Hulk is injured but even if he is fine, then you must use him and Bernard on the other flank to make this work. A) This doesn't seem to be in the gameplay for how to use Bernard and B) What do you do when either Bernard, Hulk, or both of them need to be substituted.
This is why, going back to what I said before, I believe Scolari shot himself in the foot by opting for 1 too many midfielders and not selecting Lucas Moura and maybe even Robinho.
He needs to stick to the current gameplan. Fred will come out of his shell and hopefully Paulinho will as well. Both of them didn't looke too bad yesterday and had a decent scoring chance but didn't convert because of A) an Ochoa save on Paulinho and B) Fred being offsides and just missing the mark on his shot anyway.
Regardless, Brazil are showing they are still explosive offensively. Ochoa played out of his mind yesterday. There's not much you can do about that. |

This is the third consecutive World Cup in which I root for Holland. The Oranje never failed to disappoint me and let me down :(
Also, it's a shame this isn't Aussie rules footie, otherwise Australia would be leading 2-1 now, and PKC would've found this thread :p |
