| I'm glad Argentina won. They were the better side for the majority of the game, and having dragged them through the first half of the tournament, Messi can stake his claim as the greatest player in history by winning it. |

I think we've actually beaten Argentina on the last two occasions we've played them, including the 2002 World Cup to send them home early, and the Falklands War is probably going to be the last military conflict the UK ever wins without any allies, so they can have this one on me.
Besides, this Dutch team haven't actually been very good since the group stage finished. They've scored two goals in three knockout matches, one of which was a penalty earned via a universally despised dive from Robben. Argentina haven't really set the tournament on fire but just about every goal they have scored has been brilliant, they've won all their games up until tonight and they should have won this one outright because Higuain's goal was onside (and an excellent finish as well). |
