You know it's a historic score when a scroll-bar appears in the scoreboard...

I noticed that too.
Btw, allowing 7 goals to pay tribute to their fallen star is going a bit too far. I feel bad he needs to use his fingers to count to 7. Yes old fool you've been scored on that many times.

I didn't see the scrollbar during the game :stongue:

Actually, it made me feel even worse when I found out what he was saying when he did that. He was yelling "It's seven-nil already, there's no use in despairing now, keep calm!" :( |

| While Scolari has a good track record I think he should bear the weight of the blame for the team's disorganization. Contrast that with today's game you see both teams had well thought out plan of defense. Argentina's approach to Robben and the Dutch double teaming Messi. Both effectively blunting the other's offensive weapon. Brazil seemed shocking unprepared. |

I was really hoping this would be the year for the Dutch... but alas! I guess I'll just have to cheer on my third-favorite team instead - Deutschland! |
The Dutch are supposed to hate the Germans as much as we're supposed to hate the Argentinians when it comes to football. |

The joy of being an American is that I can pick and choose which of my ancestral traditions to continue :p
...On a less-jokey level, I seriously hate the whole anti-German thing. It divides Europe when they/we need to focus on the bigger issues, ie the Commie threat. |

But the difference is that we moved on.
Besides the jokes I hope and think Germany wins. |

| Well I should also point out I've had a soft spot for Argentina ever since I fell in love with their great passing side of 2006-7 starring the likes of Riquelme, Aimar, Cambiasso, Veron, Crespo, Ayala and Sorin, with younger incarnations of Messi, Mascherano and Tevez as well. That is still probably the best team I’ve ever seen play, and it was criminal that they didn’t win the 2006 WC or the 2007 Copa America. The current team don’t play nearly as well, but are now one match away from winning the World Cup. |

Fixed, unless the Dutch only dislike the Germans a small bit. In that case your comparison still works best. If, however, they loathe and dislike everything fußball with brotherly hate, we're on the same boat.

But that's precisely what's happening right now, and Scolari himself took responsibility for what happened.
Of course, that doesn't stop critics from blaming everything else, from politics to Brazilian culture... But I'm sure reason will prevail in the long run. |

| Well, I'm not your typical Englishman. To most people here, Argentina are second only to Germany on the footballing -list. There's Scotland, I suppose, but they don't register too highly because they're far worse than us and half of their players are usually Englishmen anyway, merely those who are nowhere near good enough to play for England and have had to uncover some ancestral Scottish grandmother to give them a chance of representing someone at international level. |

See, that's what makes me an Anglophile!
Our ancestors forged the world's oldest international alliance that is still valid, and now our nations are bound together by our common hating on Argentina. This is what brings our countries together, Jack!
Now go embrace your Britishness and do your duty as an Englishman: Root against Argentina and, to show your disdain of all things both Argentine and German, break with the Catholic church and join a local version of Catholicism that isn't tied to either pope. Bonus points if the religion happens to have the word Anglo in it. Also, keep spinning an English music genre like drum'n'bass. That's always welcome :D |
