It was obviously intentional. Müller never takes a free kick or even just runs over the ball, he's ALWAYS in the box. And no player reacted like "wtf are you doing?" but rather "too bad it didn't work". Just watch Kroos during the free kick, he knows what'll happen and what he has to do. Sadly, he was the one that failed, the chip was rather poor.
And I think it was a good time to try it. With a clear lead in the game it would look too arrogant. Like this, if it works it's the goal of the tournament, if it doesn't it's at least funny and entertaining. So why the hell not? |

This would be the first time in recorded history a German team has worried about appearing arrogant. If your routine involves precisely chipping the ball just over the wall with no pace on the ball, there's a big risk you'll give possession straight back to the team who've been terrifying you on the counter-attack all game. Not a wise idea in the 87th minute of a game that's still 0-0. |

So what, Neuer was defense and goalie in-one this match, they were not afraid of taking a little risk at that time. |

Swiss playing well but its only a matter of when not if Argentina will score. They have been camped out in front of the Swiss net for the entire 2nd half. |

| Honestly the standard of play in this game is the lowest I've seen so far in this tournament. Neither team can string more than three passes together before someone takes a donkey touch or tries some bull slack pass round the corner. |
