Haha, I don't really like football that much. If you look at other football threads, you'll see I don't have a thing to say about national tournaments and, ironically enough, I've only been to a stadium once in my life - during last year's Confederations Cup because my wife and I had grabbed a ticket in January and we wanted to know what it is like to watch a match live. The sole reason I criticise the protesters is because I disagree with their methods, not with their goals.
Which would make my disagreement with them somewhat like this:

| Without reading what the protesters are about these sort of mega events all share the same pitfalls. Host country builds gaint venue at tremendous cost to the taxpayer. When the event is over there is little need for the venue with only a short term boost to the economy that effects only small segment of the work force. The politicians are always pushing these things so they can take credit. I wouldn't be surprised the protestors are using the spot light for their own agenda. In the end best not care about the whole thing. |

That's not really an option. Brazil does have its problems and we must all work on them. And, even if the country was all right, this was too big a phenomenon to be ignored. |

Wasn't my intention to tell you not to care. Rather my distaste with these mega sporting events. I believe China already has plans to demolish the birds nest. Swedish are trying to stop their government from hosting the next winter Olympics.... |

He has had a busy year. He will play but needs the additional time off.
As for the US of A, good luck to you without Donovan. |

I was thinking that. There's always one or two (usually to an important English player), but I read there were two or three horrific broken legs in last week's friendlies alone, and now Ribery is crocked as well. |

The Montes break was pretty nasty. The player I'm most disappointed about, not playing because of injury, is Falcao. |

| I feel bad for Ribery, this was most likely his last Cup. |

All I know is that the world's greatest goalkeeper won't be playing:

Higuita was so much fun! |
