I find that outrageous, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm proud of the Seleção! If anything, we should be really happy for our team, as we made it to the top 4 with 10 players and one Fred!

:p

I don't think I've ever seen so many Brazilians wearing orange before :stongue:

An amazing cache of files shows that J Edgar Hoover’s FBI took claims of Hitler’s survival seriously and a team was assigned to exploring scores of tip offs.

The astonishing documents detail how an Argentinean fugitive claimed he helped Hitler, two women and other Germans disembark from a submarine in the South American country approximately two and half weeks after the fall of Berlin in April 1945.

Hitler and his companions then went by horse pack to the foothills of the southern Andes, and the plan was for the 50-strong group to move in with German families in villages in the area.

The Argentinian informant, who gave the information over to the US authorities hoping to get asylum in return, is not named in the papers.

But he does give a description of Hitler to a journalist for the Los Angeles Examiner on July 29 1945, saying the Nazi "is suffering from asthma and ulcers, has shaved off his moustache and has a long 'but' on his upper lip".

The informant even gave directions to Hitler's whereabouts, and said: "If you will go to a hotel in San Antonio, Argentina, I will arrange for a man to meet you there and locate the ranch where Hitler is.

"It is heavily guarded of course, and you will be risking your life to go there."

:haha:

I think in memory of this glorious game I should make a mix comprising seven Para Para tracks and one other, which probably will be Bellini's Samba de Janeiro. :D

Surely 7 German eurodance tracks would be more fitting? I mean, you were just one goal short of singing this :p

Also, is the "dub dub dub dud-dud-dub" melody from Maria a famous song in Germany for some other reason? A Brazilian reporter tried (in vain) to broadcast the reaction of the German crowd in Berlin, and the supports would sing this non-stop :p

Fair enough. My reasoning was that the following video most accurately describes the mix of confusion, unreality and amazement I felt when it went from 1:0 to 5:0.

Afaik not. But Scooter is well known and somehow this chant made it into football stadiums as a way for drunk crowds to express their joy. Also, the correct spelling is "döp döp döp dödödöp döp döp"... wait, am I just discussing Scooter lyrics that consist entirely of the word "döp" with a linguist?! :wtf:

Do you still think "Löw is our biggest problem that will prevent any realistic title chances", Meat?

In other news, Argentina look well up for this. Lavezzi, Mascherano and Higuain are all playing very well, and the Dutch double-marking on Messi is leaving room for them to get on the ball.

Hahaha, what did I just see!?

Come to think of it, yeah, it did feel like a flashback :(

Haha, and that would make sense - I just assumed it was Baxxter saying "dub" with a thick accent, but his pronunciation is not that bad :p

Alive without kicking...

Our guys look a bit tired I think and midfield and defence of Argentina is good, but our first halfs all weren't great.

What's the report on the match, guys? I'm not watching at the moment.
