A lot of djs use the week as a vacation, and just hang out at some of the smaller parties.

yeah, since it says "from" Passion Pit, they are probably safe. It's like when they used to say Sharam "from" Deep Dish. |

Well, like Pat, I thought maybe Passion Pit was a larger group than those two. :conf:
And I assume A&B could do something like that if they really wanted to, but that depends on the Ultra contract. |

They are a larger group but I just thought it wouldn't make a difference.
Everything is so uber secretive.. I just assumed they didn't want it to look like ANYONE was technically "playing" ANYWHERE outside of Ultra. |

Yeah, this year seems to suck big time for that. You'd think Ultra hasn't been making any money, but their anal-expanding prices suggest differently. Hopefully, the djs come around in a year or two and stop this nonsense with the "exlusive" contracts. |

Yea, I know that, but I'm sure a 2-3 hr set somewhere wouldn't butt into his vacation very much haha. He could pay for his whole vacation by just playing one gig! I will keep hope for one more week... and then when I lose it, they will announce a party with him lol. |

If I'm not mistaken, the "exclusive" tag is only relevant for OFFICIAL WMC events. I would estimate that 80% of these parties are not actually affiliated with WMC whatsoever. "Winter Music Conference" is not synonymous with " tons of great music at dozens of venues." |

thing that i dont understand about sander... last year he wondered if he should do wmc but his agency (am only) said its not worth it because he could make more money elsewhere, which is why i think he ended up in australia or china or whereever the he was last year wmc time.
but this year its worth it to do only two parties? like wtf? :conf:
either way i emailed my contact about sander so hopefully i should be finding out soon. |
