Look at you, doing your homework.

I'm trying to figure out which day to take off for some SCUBA in the Keys. It clears my head and will make me ready to finish the week. I am too old to go to day, afternoon, and night parties every day.

in all honesty...take friday night off and sat day and youll be charged for the saturday nite all day sunday

the best parties imo happen thurs nite then sat nite then thurs day then sunday day...

i coulda have done without am only last yr...overrated i think bc theres soo many diff genres and that attracts too many diff kinds of partiers

check key largo rather than key west. its only half the travel and just as nice. john pennekamp park is very beautiful. been snorkeling there personally and they do scuba as well. of course key largo doesnt have the key west nightlife, but if you're looking to escape wmc for a day then i doubt thats what you care about. ;)

I skipped last year and heard that am only was meh and so were a lot of other things. I am thinking to take off Friday day, based on what you said unless some insane lineup happens for Ultra but I would rather skip that mess. Plus, traffic can be bad to get down on a Saturday. I would do a two tank dive, while my other half snorkels, and then watch him eat key lime pie before passing out on the beach, back for Friday night.

One good way to recoup is a half a spa day, Mandarin Oriental has a good half day around four hour detox that is the best fix if you can't get far.

Ooh, thanks. I was thinking about Key Largo too. I did a dive there once on the way back from Key West. I want to do a wreck dive but if we can get a good break in Key Largo, I would take it. The drive to Key West is supposed to be three hours and he did it in two. How long of a drive would Key Largo be from SOBE early morning?

dont be fooled. key west is a 3 hour drive. never made it in any less. the no passing zones and all really slow you down. its hard to speed. key largo to south beach is one and a half hours, but since most of the driving takes place in miami-dade county and not on the keys you might be able to do it in an hour.

We did it in two hour last April at 6am but I don't like when he drives like that, ask some NYTAs, he is a fast driver. That sounds good to get there in an hour. I'll check for dive info now. I am looking at the park you mentioned and the rates are pretty good. That is what we're looking for, somewhere calm.

ah 6am, thats why. probably no one on the road just quite yet. but i wouldnt advise driving like that on the road down to key west. so many people have died on that stretch that its just plain sad. :(

but yea i like that park. like i said, only did snorkeling but im sure the scuba is awesome too. hope you have a good time.
