I really don't know what to respond to you because you're just so ing far off base it is ridiculous at this point. This has nothing to do with coddling or placating, and particularly nothing to do with "those who want nothing more than to see Americanism and Western ideals replaced with something else". The fact that you are unable to separate the word 'Muslim' from representing anything other than its extremist minorities is the point. TRY IT. Use your ing brain cells to break down the logic. It is NOT that difficult.

By the Left's definition, anyone who has an opinion differing from theirs equates to "being a bigot" or being intolerant. It's strait out of Saul Alinsky's playbook on stifling dissent and it's a joke. The reality is that this is a pretty ing tolerant country, and you are in the minority buddy... part of the vastly outnumbered contingent who thinks there's nothing wrong with erecting a mosque in ground zero's shadow. the sensibilities of the the thousands who still have open wounds- this is about religious freedom baby! (Still trying to figure out why the Left, virulently anti-religion, has decided to become the defacto stalwart of religious freedom for Islam right now).
Because you so easily succumb to political correctness and grievance politics, along with the fallacy of a Utopian fantasy land being juuuuust out of reach, you're at the top of the list of those who will fall victim to like this:

No, actually that isn't the case, you are being called a bigot because the view that the people behind this mosque are equal to Nazis, IS bigotry. The idea that by having a mosque two blocks from ground zero is akin to building a terrorist command center there, is EXTREMELY ignorant. The problem here is that the dissent is not based on rational ideas but largely on FEAR and ignorance.

Yeah, lets try and keep it that way. Just because we are 'pretty tolerant' doesn't mean we should compromise now just because people like you can't tell the difference between a muslim and a terrorist. This is 2 blocks from ground zero, AKA a non issue.

I know, it is really sad. And I'd be happy to debate with you the sensibilities of ground zero victims all day long, but unfortunately this debate is not about that anymore, this debate is about whether or not muslim americans should have the same rights as everyone else in this country.
The left has mostly bowed down to this bigotry like the bunch of ing pussies they are. If there are any voices of support for the mosque, its because they can see the distinction here between muslims in this country and radicals abroad. You can't. That is the fundamental difference at play here.

The future will be vastly more multi-cultural whether you like or not, and its time people started getting used to it. This is a free country and you're going to have to deal with muslims having mosques, KKK rallies, preachers organizing Quran burnings and all the other silly that FREEDOM allows. |

This country is going to faster than you can say the word and it is mostly because of the archaic and reactionary streams of thought that this whole ground zero mosque debacle have beautifully exposed.
