New York is so gross.
Joss Weatherby
quote:
The "Rally of Remembrance" event featured speeches from conservative figures such as former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton — who spoke via video — and keynoter Geert Wilders, an anti-Islam Dutch politician.
"America, New York and Shariah are incompatible in New York," Wilders said. Shariah is Islamic religious law. "New York stands for openness and tolerance. Suppose there was a place and it only allowed people of one persuasion within its walls. It would not be New York. It would be Mecca."

Huh? What's so crazy about saying New York is incompatable with Shariah law? It's true. As is his statement about not being allowed in Mecca unless you submit to Islam/Shariah Law.
The above quote is spliced together- this is what he actually said:
quote:
Among those lost were people from 55 nations, people of every religion and every persuasion. No place on earth had a more multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-lingual workforce than New York’s proud towers.
That is exactly why they were targeted. They constituted an insult to those who hold that there can be no peaceful cooperation among people and nations without submission to Sharia; to those who wish to impose the legal system of Islam on the rest of us.
But New York and Sharia are incompatible. New York stands for freedom, openness and tolerance.
New York’s Mayor recently said that New York is “rooted in Dutch tolerance.” Those are true words. New York is not intolerant. How can it be? New York is open to the world.
Suppose New York were intolerant. Suppose it only allowed people of one persuasion within its walls. Then it would be like Mecca, a city without freedom.
Whatever your religion, persuasion or gender is, in New York you will find a home. In Mecca, if your religion isn’t Islam, you are not welcome.
Where's the "crazy"?

Aside from the FACT that the people involved in the Cordoba Initiative have no interest in implementing Sharia law. FFS, Imam Rauf is a Sufi.

Besides the fact that the whole statement, which ever one quoted is ing false logic and only reinforces the idea that they want to bring this country down to the level of religious tolerance that there is in Mecca, as in none. No tolerance for Muslims. It is an incredibly hypocritical statement!
This is the logic that I see in their statement:
New York is tolerant to all religions, people, whatever.
Mecca is not.
Mecca is the home of the religion for this building.
New York shouldn't have to be tolerant if they aren't.
New York now is equal to Mecca.
Tolerance often doesn't go both ways. Sorry. Its an idea you subscribe to and do not waver from. If you say you tolerate all religions in this country, or you believe in the fundamental part of the bill of rights and the constitution that there is freedom to practice or not practice any religion you like, then you have to tolerate this mosque. Accept it, no, but tolerate it yes. Sorry if you feel otherwise, if you do, then get the out please cause you are cancer on freedom.
