I do appreciate the level headedness, fellas. Most of those who paint me as some rabid right-wing space cadet are most likely projecting their own rabid left-wing space cadet biases (you know who you are). I chuckle at the assumptions made all the time, including my undying support for Bush, Palin, Beck, Fox, or whatever else gets conjured up. The reality is, my Conservatism is almost purely based on a few very simple principles: limited government as it was intended, financial responsibility, respect for the law, and personal responsibility/accountability. That's about all. I'm not all righteous about social issues and I'm not religious. I just want the creeping nanny state off everyone's back and allow them to succeed/fail on their own accord.
Back to the main topic though: I still haven't heard a peep from all the Mosque defenders about the latest news. You know, about how the main developer Sharif El-Gamal has a rap sheet with 7 arrests including assault, DUI and patronizing a prostitute? And how he owes $224,000 in unpaid taxes? Aaaaannnnd how it's just been uncovered that he and the other Mosque financiers contributed to the Holy Land Foundation in 1999, which is designated by the U.S. as a terrorist organization? Nope- nothing to see here... everyone keep moving. Don't wanna insult these good intentioned people who just want to practice religion. :rolleyes:
