EXACTLY!!Many people don't seem to understand that at all. I used to criticize the Americans for always thinking that it is always about them and the whole " the rest of the world" attitude but unfortunately I'm beginning to see the same behavior in this country more and more.[/QUOTE]

seriously dude, I'm slightly tired of you following me thread to thread and undermining everything I say - and the parrot comment wasn't directed to you
your responses are borderline rude, and you clearly cannot have a conversation with me without sliding in insults
I don't quote other people without adding my own opinion to it

goodbye.

How do you not see that it is all connected? The corporations that are granted too much power here and in the states are the same ones that are destroying communities, cultures and environments all around the world. And we have a greater ability to fight them here. And frankly, its our moral obligation. I am a human before I am a Canadian. It doesn't matter where I live. I should be fighting to fix the wrongs. And you spend your energy, all of your indignation on a handful of people who believe we need to right these wrongs? What a waste of your brain.

I beg your pardon?

I'm going to be a bigger person and just say - let's just agree to disagree. You want to side with protesters - go right ahead!

Our banking system also DID get bailed out not as much as the American banks but they sure did get lots of money out of our pockets.

And how much did they repay? People seem to think these “bailouts” are just free money, when the majority are loans. If companies pay back their loans with interest and provide a profit to a country’s central bank, is that really the worst thing ever?

What power are they “granted”, specifically? Where does it say that cultures deserve to be preserved? A culture deserves preservation if it is self-replicating. If it isn’t, it will die out and be replaced by something else. Just like thousands of cultures have already. So what? If people freely choose to “destroy” their own culture via their own decisions then that’s a very democratic process.

Keep posting on the www about how evil the corporations are by allowing you to communicate with the rest of the world for virtually nothing ;)

I always found it quite funny when people tweet from their iphones that they paid for with their credit cards from starbucks how evil big corporations are. Stop giving them your money then.

So its an issue for you when they protest and disrupt society AND its a problem for you when they try to change things from within? What shall we do then? Lie down? take it? Thats only fun in its time and place

Neither. I have no issue with protestors trying to make positive change. If they can do so, then more power to them. i just find it funny that people utilise the tools provided by corporations in their fight against those same corporations. If corporations are not concurrently providing great benefits to society while they hatch their evil plans, why are the Great Unwashed so reliant on the goods and/or services provided to them by these businesses?

It would be impossible for me to do what I want (human rights work) without internet/computers etc. But if it makes you feel better, I boycott quite a few corporations. And the list gets longer and longer

Exactly. So you accept that corporations do provide some positive outcomes for the 99%?

That is certainly your prerogative.

certainly. Does that mean they are blameless? Absolutely not. I am not advocating we eradicate them. Just alter.

and I don't consider myself part of the 99%. I was born and raised in Canada. That alone makes me one of the lucky ones.
