and yeah... what in the world do some of you people DO to actually justify needing anything more than 100-200MB of data usage on your phones? please enlighten me, because I'm still clueless as to how you can possibly use up that much data on your phone unless you're simply emailing large attachments back and forth all day long...
(and if you're just using all that up to download youtube videos and such, well, somebody needs to get a life around here, and it ain't me) |

and I just gave up my HTC Tytn... couldn't handle the complexity that came with the phone (as much as I loved it).
I found it offered too much on a device like that, and I didn't use 10% of its features most of the time.
And I find most of the newer phones coming out (iPhone, Instinct, HTC, etc) having all kinds of useless features that are better left for a laptop or computer than a phone... but people still buy into them, because hey, everyone wants to be on top of the chain, admired for having the latest, coolest, most expensive gadget in the city.
Fan boys...
I'm reverting back to a simple phone with a sexy edge to it, just for s and giggles... and leaving all the internet browsing, mp3 playing and video recording to devices that were built just for that and do it much better than any phone can actually emulate... back to Samsung, baby:

That Samsung is nice dude, it's hard to top Samsung and Nokia right now ... when you it comes to phones only. |

Roger's just released numbers around the iPhone for the first month..
| quote: |
- iPhone data pricing models. Of course, Rogers rethought its plans, launched the $30 / 6GB plan and all was well again in the land of the polar bear and beaver. We had a quick chat with Elizabeth Hamilton, the Director of Corporate Communications at Rogers, this week, and it turns out they may not have been so completely mistaken with the plans offered after all.
- First month stats show that 1.2% of iPhone customers used more than 1GB of data in the first four weeks
95% used less than 500MB
91.2% used less than 100MB.
Considering the original plans were as high as 400MB per month, it would seem they would have served the northern populace quite handily.
|
but yeah, they are a lot of people who use more than 100-200MB of data on their phones.
It's not just for email. But looking at videos, and other data intensive programs like GPS for some.
Personally, I tether with my blackberry so I can use the internet where I am! That uses a fair amount of data depending what i'm doing.
But if its just for email...100MB is plenty!

there you have it - 92% of people use less than 100MB, even on a goddamn iPhone that was supposed to be the end all/be all for the damn stupid phones of the future.
p.s. - what happened to just buying a small laptop for all your internet/wireless needs, like an EEE PC or whatever those are called - they cost less than the damn iPhone, and you can have a phone alongside it too. |
