No kidding... , this is the first BB that I have bought that hasn't been unlocked. I swear by it. It is so they can rape us some more on our roaming charges in other countries. IMAGINE THAT!

Well why can't we have a no compromise phone?

Samsung F480 is THE phone... Quick interface, capacitive screen, haptic feedback and there is apparently a quad-band version coming out in a few months.

So, I'll probably wait for that.

hilarious .. David McGuinty's (Liberals) bill in the first article proposes to make it illegal for providers to lock phones to their networks, while in the second article the Conservatives propose to make it illegal to unlock them.

Go Team First bill!

ps. I also found it funny that McGuinty only saw it as a problem (the whole SAF and 'hidden' fees issue) when his daughter's cell phone bill was surcharged an additional $50 and he was given roadblocks by the provider when they tried to cancel her plan LOL

I truly hope the Rogers corporation burns in hell.

When are we going to have a real competitive market?

When are the ing idiots at the CRTC going to change the laws so that world wide investment from Global corporations that dont RAPE its customers, get in on the action here in Canada.

T-Mobile wanted to launch here.. but they cant becuase the company has to be 51% Canadian owned!!

We will be stuck with the HEADS we have here.

One day.. hopefully... i cant wait to see ROBBERS go down..

Its not fair that they control the GSM market.

I suggest calling your respective loyalty departments asap.
Everyone seems to be giving out these plans now.

Do tell.

I've got:

250 daytime mins
Unltd evenings/weekends at 5pm
2500 texts
1000 pic/video messages
10MB internet
caller ID
whocalled
namedisplay

$30/mo + fees and taxes.

Is it better than this?

Dear god no..but probably close.

Its $17.50 a month for

250 Daytime minutes
Unlimited Evenings/Weekends starting @ 6pm.

I believe there is a plan for $15 which adds all of the other stuff...so it might be somewhat comparable...but looks like yours is a bit better lol

Sounds like my Solo plan for $35.

But only have 1,000 texts, 25 pic/video messages, and no internet.

What is "whocalled"? And how is "namedisplay" different from "caller ID" ?? :conf:

Whocalled sends me a text message with the number of the person that called me, if I miss a call or if my phone is off and somebody tries to call me.

Namedisplay shows the name of the person registered to that phoneline instead of just their number, so its like Caller ID ++.
