cheaper first phone -$100
one less phone -$600
not going over limit -$0 to -$720

so approximately $3160

It's going to be the exact same price. You don't think the Blackberry bold is going be around $299 as well? Personally, I think its going to priced similar to the iPhone.

Blackberry's aren't much more reliable then the iPhone. the nipple gets a lot of wear and tear and the keys tend to break as well.

I have no idea what the going over limit is...are you talking about data? because for 6GB is going to be damn hard to go over that limit unless you stream a lot of porn...which you might do...i dunno.

but honestly, the iPhone is not anymore than any other phone. It's just the initial $299 that might be a bit more steeper than other phones, but after that its the same since you can use any plan with it.

Actually I asked the owner of the company that I bought my blackberry from and they said that the Bold will be somewhere between $600-700 without a contract!

I think it's only fair that you'll replace your BB as often as an iPhone. So the price difference between the two over 3 years is marginal.

Additional Data 50¢ per MB for the first 60MB, 3¢ per MB thereafter

now imagine if everyone installed Skype on their smartphones and used that to make calls!

Well yeah, I understand what the charges are.

But I'm going guess that 0.05% of the market is going to use more than 6GB of data. If you plan on using more than you don't know how to manage your data properly.

When you're at home you can use WiFi for your Skype so it doesn't cost anymore, or you can get UMA (which is virtually the same thing) for an added price.

All i'm saying is that the iPhone is not anymore than any other phone. You don't need to get a data plan on the iPhone either. You can simply use it as a phone and use data when you have WiFi connection.

The reason I added overage is because of the inherent problems with the iPhone doing the following things:

-automatically downloading updates
-automatically downloading itunes music
-transfering uncompressed email
-surfing using FULL HTML, not mobile
-surfing using 3G, which is IMO rediculous for today's data pricings
