Do you ever pay attention to what i say or post?
"36 month renewal and any handset at renewal term price"
Why wouldn't there be one? Whats the point of offering this to someone if they can bail anytime soon?
(But Wind doesn't have contracts ... blah blah blah, Only 2 Carriers use 1700 band, TMobile and Wind ... no where else) |

Why is WIND showing iPhone support when they're 1700 band?
That iPhone is a 1st gen that uses "GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900"

So I can only get Wind if I live in Toronto or Calgary? Those are the only "Home Zones" Otherwise I have no minutes to actually talk, and have to pay extra???
All the unlimited minutes are FROM call "home call zones"
What a load of .
Their FAQ states:
"Question
I do not live in a WIND HOME Zone, can I still be a WIND Customer?
Answer
Yes you can. "
Ok but then I am just paying for every minute Roaming?
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong
Also, currently with the Big 3, if lets say I am in another town out of my local area, and place calls locally in that town it is LOCAL not Roaming. With WIND it would be roaming.
I hope their coverage expands quickly because it sucks big ass donkey balls right now. |

sounds like they can't wait lol..
"Lacavera said the company, which will focus on high-end smartphones, will launch with the BlackBerry, but added he is in discussions to begin carrying Apple Inc.'s iPhone at a later date. He said the company will have a wide range of smartphones, from companies such as HTC Corp and the Chinese cell-maker ZTE Mobile. The entrepreneur added that an announcement on pricing plans and definite launch dates should occur in the next week."

From what I understand you can still use your plan outside of the home zones, but you'll be paying roaming charges.
As for whether you'd be paying roaming charges if you were say calling from Calgary, that I'm unsure. I'm assuming it would be local since you're in a "HOME" zone. They'll be setting up HOME zones in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Ottawa starting early next year. Best thing is to just call them/email and ask. Takes a few minutes and you have nothing to lose.

Many of you are asking what's the difference between a WIND HOME Zone versus a WIND AWAY Zone?
At WIND, when you are in HOME Zone many services are available to you for free.
When you are in a WIND AWAY Zone, some services will cost a bit more:
* Calls to anywhere in Canada or the U.S. (all destinations): 25 cents/minute
* Any calls to you: 25 cents/minute
* Any text messages you receive (from anywhere in the world): free of charge
* To use the Internet on your phone: 10 cents/25 kB
To make sure you don’t accidently rack up a huge bill, we have capped your maximum call length to 120 minutes when you are in an AWAY Zone – we just want you to be sure you know you’re incurring those extra charges. Also, your WIND phone will clearly tell you where you are. When you are in a HOME Zone, your phone will say HOME, when you are in an AWAY Zone, your phone will say AWAY.
