Inspired by the plan I posted above, gave rention a call and explained how everyone got mixed up with that new iPhone/BB/WM plan that's was suppose to be $30 w/ $10 credit. Told them I really like Rogers & was a bit unhappy about what happened, they honored the credit for a long periode of time.
Didn't get the ultra cool plan like the one above, but what do you expect from a loss of 136 million. |

iPhone OS 3.0 is coming, March 17th

We just got the announcement, iPhone OS 3.0 is coming. Set your clocks, mark your calendars. It's going down March 17th. Apparently, we'll get a sneak peak at the new OS, as well as a look at a brand new version of the SDK. Exciting stuff indeed, and we'll be there live at 10am PST (1pm PST) with the liveblog. Apple's calling this an "advance preview of what we're building," so we're not expecting anything ready to go as of the 17th, but hopefully this will allow developers to start building toward future functionality (hey, how about some push notifications?), and presumably users won't have too many months to wait after that for the real deal. |

AJ's 3 year term is over and now looking for a new phone.
I'm looking at an I9 (http://i9-phone-review.blogspot.com/)
It's cheap, and does what I need, and prolly will be ok with it for that price. I don't mind knock-offs.
I'm open to other suggestions... what cool and cheap?
Alternatively, what's a cheap phone with WiFi so I can get internet without paying for 3G? |

I just picked up a Moto Q (on Solo) for a 100 bones, no contract.
Its an older phone, but its still a smartphone/PDA, and a HELL of a deal when compared to the ty Samsung m300 esque phones that are selling for ~ $150(+) w/o a contract... ...
Fair price for a smartphone, even an older one, compared to what regular phones sans contracts are going for. |

Not bad... it would be cool if it had wifi... that's what would steer me away from a touch phone.
I'm on Rogers on a corporate plan, and right now they are offering a LG VU TU915 for 99.99 on a 2 year contract.

This is the frontrunner for me if I extend my plan and commit to 2 more years. |

Why don't you get the iPhone w/o a data plan? Instead of getting a cloned iPhone, that is gonna cost you more then getting an iPhone @ HUP pricing. You don't have to get a data plan to get any phone at Rogers.
This is what I did ... before the data plans got cheap.
1)Go into a Roger's corp store and do a HUP (hardware upgrade) to the iPhone for $249.99 ($50 more)
2)Wait a few days for your profile to be fully sink into their system.
3)Call in and ask for the EPP $17.50 plan, unless you have a better plan ... skip this part.
4)While talking to the CSR, ask them to fully block your account from any internet data. There are many levels of block ... ask for a full block. Once that's in place, look at your iPhone, if you see an "E" icon while on 2G/Edge mode ... call them back, they haven't done it proper.
If the Roger's store force you to get a data plan, head over to another location and worset come to worse ... call Roger's and they will send you one by UPS.
That's my suggest and good luck with whatever you pick.
EPP:$17.50

The CECT I9 /SCIPHONE i68 sells for sub $150 now, so it looks ripe for the picking. iPhone isn't on my corporate offering.
They're dirt cheap now |
