Once Nokia rolls out the 6682 (http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6682...,feat:1,00.html) I'm picking that bad boy up and moving to Rogers.

Dude! It's got "burst mode"! Nice! (The camera takes a bunch of pics in a row) But it sounds like an automatic weapon! :)

I love my Slider (Kyocera) and I've had VERY few problems with Bell, as a whole... but I've heard my share of people complaining about their service, or lack thereof... I have yet to experience it, and I have to say that their coverage range is very good. VERY few dead spots.

The real test will be in early June I'm going to Switzerland and I want to see what they will do for me, I'm not going to be without a phone for two weeks, so we shall see!

After my cellphone got broken at Ultra Spin, I'm trying to make an informed decision about buying a new one. I haven't bought a new phone in 2 years. Can anyone give me any useful review sites? Also, does anyone have any pointers they can give me?

I only really see myself using my cellphone for is for text messaging and calling, but I'm oblivious to new cell phone features, so maybe there is something that I would be interested in that I just don't know about yet.

some good places to start off. which phone you decide to buy will depend greatly on who your provider is. be weary of signing a long term contract just to qualify for a 'free' phone. personally i rarely have signal problems anyone with Rogers/Fido on GSM in Toronto but that's just my personal experience.

edit: I'd put Fido as a provider... although it's owned by Rogers, it maintains separate plans, etc.

I have Vonage for my home phone service.

I have been without home phone service for 5 years and when I heard about Vonage I figured for $20 / month (500 minutes anywhere) - why not (it's not like I need/use a home phone that much anyway).

even international numbers ???

500 minutes anywhere in North America - $20, $0.05 / min after 500. Most international are under $0.10. http://www.vonage.ca

In the news yesterday that Sprint is eyeing the purchase of a Vonage firm.

I guess they figure the LD business is bleeding, bet the ranch on VOIP.

Vonage's business model is fundamentally flawed. A hosted VoIP provider will never survive without owning the local loop. Relying on other carriers (who are often your competetors) for local loop is silly, all they have to do is block you.... not to get into the Quality of Service (DSCP) games they can play too....

Any turd monkey can become a hosted VoIP provider, it's even built into the low end IOS now.... there won't be any economics there very soon, it will get lost in freebies/bundles. Only people that own the local loop will have a business going forward.

:-)

Not to mention the E911 issues that are impossible unless you own the local loop and actually "know" where the customers is, and can report that ALI back to the 911 tandem....
