| i am letting my natural hair grow out so i can have virgin hair in like 2 years then dye it - i think a weird color. I always wanted to try strawberry blonde. |

I wish I had jenny's hair - it takes color so good.
When I was fully blonde - no highlights... because the last few years of my blondeness were just highlighted, My hair took the color sooooo good.
But I can't even think of trying to dy my hair over my once bleached, then dyed dark, only to be super lightened again - hair. So I just wait. Patiently. One year with no hair dye so far!! It's been tough... but I somehow managed to pull through. :haha: |

I dyed my hair for the first time 2 months ago, a deep auburn or some , I did not want a drastic change because I'm too in love with dark hair. Now the roots are starting to show and I really don't want to dye it again (the same color), this requires too much effort and maintenance, and causes damage to my hair.
I'm gonna go get myself a dye that is my natural hair color and leave it alone, probably forever. |

One of my gfs has ruined her hair (again) from coloring it. She used to bleach the out of her hair, then started coloring it black, and she had the grossest hair texture ever. Then she had to stop when she got pregnant, and her hair grew in so nice and healthy...I was shocked, lol.
But now she's back at it again and her hair looks like . I don't get it. Big deal if you have an awesome color in your hair...if it's not soft, silky and smooth, you're wasting your money. Hair should invite hands to run through it, y'know? |

Completely agree.
I dyed my hair because I wanted a little change. It started when I tried on a redish wig for fun on Halloween, and the color looked really nice on me. So I wanted to try it.
I'm very content with my natural hair color, and I think it's what looks best on me. So I'll leave my hair alone.
(if it's not broken, don't fix it).
When I start getting noticeable gray hairs I'll just do what my Mama does - use Henna. All the benefits and no damage at all. |

I couldn't picture you with anything but dark hair.
I love light hair. Even when I was young in school - my hair would get lighter from the sun. It was still BROWN but never a dark brown - thank god cuz my dads hair STILL at his age is jet black.
Mom always dyed her hair. Even in her pics from a teenager she was always having funky colors. Plus it was bonding time in highschool. I would dye my moms hair and she would dye mine. Every 3 weeks :D (just roots) Cuz blonde = high upkeep. |

| how messy is henna? i know a lot of black women have started using it to keep their hair healthy, supposedly makes it more manageable, shiny, etc and the reddish hue is just a bonus. |
