| hahaha I have before pics but I refuse to take any pictures until EVERYTHING is done. :o Mainly because we gave away a lot of our furniture and now tonight we have to go buy new ones so we have nothing anywhere :stongue: by anywhere, I really mean only the living room. |

Money is meant to be spent, imo. You can't take it with you when you die, and what are you earning it for? If you have a surplus after you've paid your bills and put some in savings or investments...I think it should be spent on whatever/however you want. I'm quite a practical person too, but I love blowing cash when I can. It's all in the meaning that you attach to it. |
exactly. i pretty much agree with you here about all of that. i dont want to give off the impression that i'm a little stickler about cash. i'm actually REALLY generous when it comes to cash when i have it, and i have no problem blowing $150+ on a nice dinner once in a while. my idea of splurging is a last minute trip to the keys or a fancy dinner...for you, it's a nice pair of lamb shoes:p
i was mainly just talking about how i am when it comes to fashion and clothes and stuff. like i said, it's all a matter of preference. i probably wouldn't spend $300 on a pair of shoes, but i'd gladly spend $300 on a cool watch. but that's just because i'm a watch person and i feel like it would be more of an investment than a pair of shoes. |

Well we weren't going to buy a new entertainment center (although I wanted to - I nicknamed the old one "the towers") but luckily after seeing how nice everything looks now and seeing the couch we want - we decided to buy a new one after all :) I plan on (finally) cleaning the house this weekend when they finish up - and then I'll snap 5151515 pics for you. Yes. Exactly that many. :o |

Yep. I agree on that for sure. The things I think one should never skimp on are shoes, coats/jackets, bags/purses, and jewelry.
edit: and perfume. God I hate cheap perfume. I mean if you're gonna stink yourself up with it, at least buy something that smells expensive, lol. |

Omg, you have no idea how long it took us to find a nice entertainment stand. The same everywhere we went...and finally found a really nice one at Sears. It's modern enough, but still looks like a piece of furniture. I hate all the plastic and cheap looking .

| We want a wall unit because my bf can't stand seeing my books everywhere anymore. :stongue: We also settled on a sectional couch... OH I'm so excited for it to be OVER!!!!!! :wtf: I can't wait to see the final product of our bathroom now that I picked the intense color :o |

Yeah, that's why I asked for the carpenter to put a built-in/bookshelf in the office.
I hate wall units...too bulky! Well at least for this house. The fireplace/mantle already takes up a lot of space.
I like built in wall units though, the kind with cupboards/doors where you can hide everything from sight when not in use. |

wow. i have something of similar structure, but the corners on my stand are black and the top base isn't glass. But still, nice entertainment stand. :p i am not a fan of the big rectangular 15x20 entertainment system with drawers and shelves right out of the box. |

Wall units are not only space savers, they look so much cleaner! They aren't jutting out from the wall making the place appear to have less room than it has. Keeps a more open feel. |

Yeah me either. is so in ugly. This one couldn't be any more perfect. Corners at the back are cut/angled so it actually fits into the corner.
My bf was all unsure about whether to buy it or not...but I was like "Look, either way we need to see how it looks in our place...and that's going to involve actually purchasing it."
Sure enough I was right and it's a perfect fit, lol. It was the last one in stock, too...totally a sign.
Oh, we also got that dvd player/speaker system last weekend. Bf saw it was on sale in a flyer (200 bucks off!!!), and again he wanted to wait (he always wants to wait, and then loses out)...and again I told him we'd better go in there. And AGAIN, there was only one in stock, lol.
It's pretty sweet though. It plays pretty much all file types. CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, divx, mp3, JPEG, and of course DVD. It has a usb port and an ipod dock too. |
