this is one thing i agree with that i don't think is unreasonable. if a transgendered person has identified themselves as male or female, i refer to them as the gender they identify with. it is rude to call a mtw transgender a he. it is equally rude to call a wtm transgender a she.
that being said, i don't think tranny is a bad word, because i don't mean it in a bad way. just like the gay community has embraced queer, tranny is a fun word to say and should be embraced. i guess there aren't really pejoratives for bisexual people, but if there were, and someone called me that, i wouldn't be upset.

you don't get to make that decision. that's the point. unless you're transgender. even 'queer' is not embraced by all the gay community - for many years it was extremely pejorative. i hope that one day we can all hold hands and sing 'tranny' but that day is not today.

actually, i can. but there is reason why i have not released either of my last two mixes under that name. i decided to only use that alias for transgender and LGBT events. I decided that it would have the wrong effect.
