end of what? a long era of failure? i doubt it. though that could be the case for england.

lampard will be 30 and will most definately evolve into a player that could lead the english side. joe cole will be 26, john terry, hargreaves and ashley cole will be 27, gerrard will be 28, ferdinand will be 29. these are peak years for football players. you get more mature more experienced. also the youngsters will grow up. rooney will be 22 and lennon will be 21. this WC should have taught rooney a lesson about his temper and we can expect a more mature and collected rooney in the future. and we will also get to see the english "sensation" walcott on the field perhaps in his english debut at 19. overall things are looking good for england.

LOL @ djSmitty's FIFA conspiricy theories!!

yeeh, it's totally FIFA's fault that your beloved English players fold like cheap suits when the preasure's on and it's time to take PK's.

:haha:

There's only one thing more entertainng than watching the English team get (inevitably) beaten. And that's the self-indignant "isn't Johnny Foreigner a bloody bad sport, against our brave, innocent young men" ranting that inevitably follows. The day that the Brits admit they were beaten by a better team without any of the usual conspiracy theories is the day the monkeys abandon Gibraltar.
Anyone care to discuss how the Ricardo actually saved a few PK's, while Robinson was wrong footed every time? Points to the first who manages to blame the ref/FIFA for that too....

It's either going to be John Terry or Frank Lampard as the new skipper...I predict John Terry since he usually takes over the captain responsibilities when Becks gets substituted
