Oh, also, I forgot to mention: guyA is apparently a very dirty player while guyB has no history of violence on the field AT ALL. This, of course, greatly changes what actually happened there on Sunday.

And that my friend was the point of the videos. I'm glad you understand now.

I'm not arguing that it isn't sad that a hero such a Zidane acted the way he did. Things may have been different if he had remained cool but sadly, he didnt. my argument here is that there is historical evidence that materazzi is a savage and most likely provoked zidane, who in return acted badly.

PS.

In any case, did Zidane really cost hist nation their glory? blah.. Trez was going to kick anyways and Barthez wasn't going to save anything..

Let's see..

Expulsions
ZIDANE Zinedine (FRA) 110'

So the expulsion happened a few minutes before PK's. That is a weak case for saying he costed his nation the game. Zidane was already tired, injured and Italy was already playing for peanlties. I think it is save to say the game's faith was decided with or without Zidane but too bad he had to act that way because we will never know. In a perfect world I agree with you, Zidane shouldn't have acted that way but guess what, he is no God, he isn't perfect and Materazzi most likely took advantage of that.

+1

ps hes still a dirty terorist and u cant blame materazzi for calling it as it is

The second paragraph of my post was all sarcasm. The "zidane having no history of violence on the field AT ALL" should have tipped you off.

At the end it all came down to random PKs, no skill was shown... it could've gone either way.

Its a wrong misconception that people think that no skills are required in penalty kicks. If you look at the history of penalty kicks, it is usually the team favored to win that has won.

Experience, ability to handle pressure and the ability to put the ball in the right place by fooling the keeper with your run are skills that are called into play during PKs.

I watched the game in little italy while I was down in NY for the armin double header. Best plan ever, after the game the streets were insane and we ended up staying for 5 hours after the game celebrating with the crowd.

Malek's right - it could have gone either way. It's not like Italy spanked France 3-0 in the PKs. Franc elost by literally a couple of inches.

it all comes down to the mental level.

Every player in the worldcup knows how to score and put it in.

the better team? i don't know, France was favoured by every booker.

anyways, its still a poor way to end finals of the biggest tourney on earth.

That maybe true but like I said before, its usually the favorite team that wins a shootout. By favorite, i dont mean the team that played better on the day through the 120 minutes, rather the bigger team favored to win before the match.

the more i think of it, the more its better that italy won those PKs.

1-if France won, we would never hear the end of it, before the cup we would still hear those sore looser complain about the 94 PKs.

2-it casts a shadow on that victory because what people are remembering the most is Zidane's headbutt and maybe racial slurs if they are confirmed.

3-cheats always prosper.
