Well there's E'too (sp) and Drogba somewhere in there, you never know :) nobody really follows African football but these guys are good |

| well etoo isnt playing this world cup, drogba hasnt been very sharp in chelsea, and cote divore is in a very tough group. watching angola play argentina was absolutely dreadful, they couldnt connect simple passes, ghana again doesnt have much chance in their group, neither does togo or tunisia. |

u should know cameroon isn't in the world cup!
i don't see the African teams going far this world cup. ivory coast is the best african team after proving it in the african nations cup however they are in the group of death and i don't think they are making it past the group stage unless they somehow upset Argentina in the first game.
as far as the rest are concerned. going nowhere.
if there will be surprises it'll come from the asian teams. south korea i think will have another decent run cuz they are almost certain to go past the group stage. iran might also make it past their group cuz mexico playing in europe has trouble written all over them! japan is a good team too.
i'm still sticking with my Brazil-Holland final |

i used that BBC predictor thing and got an England - Italy final. Of course, I'm biased but England have a decent shot, if Crouch can keep potting them like he did today against Jamaica. They just need to avoid Brazil for as long as possible and the ing penalty shootouts!:mad:
A lot of people favour Germany since they are hosts, but I honestly don't see why. Please, just anybody but bloody Brazil again. |

Brazil is my favorite team but even I dun want them to win. And for some reason, I hate France too.
Germany = hosts - thats pretty big imo.

| I don't think Germany will get bombed or anything, but this isn't the German team of the 96 Euro, 90 World Cup, etc. They were lucky to reach the Final in 2002 and I just don't see how they can muddle their way past the Quarters given the quality of many of the other European nations, as well as teams like Brazil, Argentina. Even Mexico or the USA could give Germany a good go. Japan held them to a 2-2 draw just the other day. |

yes it was a fluke that they reached 2002? what happened to england in 2002? a fluke too that they didn't go further? or they just choked? as usual. |

england were beat by Brazil in 2002 on a bad mistake by Seaman in net. Without that goal, it probably would have went to penalties, which England would have lost anyway.
But come on man...Germany had a pretty easy road to the Finals last time and the USA were robbed in the QF game. The Germans are great players and have had some amazing teams, but this current squad isn't one of them. |
