| ^ LOL! Buddy flattens a player by headbutting him, gets sent off the field during his very last game, and still wins best player award. Now that's legendary. |

AP |

| How long would it take the Italians in Toronto to forget about this lucky victory, meaning: not wearing their blue boy jerseys, waving "Mexican" flags and honking horns? |

While I don't particularly like how the final ended with PKs, it would have been a lucky win regardless of who won. Blaming Italy for being lucky is retarded. Luck or no luck, they won, and played well. There's an element of luck in all sports, and that's what makes it a little more exciting to watch (if you don't believe me, watch a chess match - no luck there). |

I think by lucky (and that's how i see it as well) he meant that they got a lucky draw and a relatively easy way to the final, while France had to beat all the strong teams (2 of them portuguese lol).
I don't really like either of the teams...I'd have to probabbly take Italy over France anyway but they definitely got lucky. :p |

Life's a bitch - some get it easier, some get it harder. You couldn't have had a tournament where each team had equally strong opponents. The losers would have bitched and moaned anyways. |

True...we should give lots of respect still to Ukrain and Australia ;) |

Fact: Italy let in two goals the entire tournament (tied for record):
-own goal
-Zidane's penalty.
Italy's win was not due to luck (although they occasionally got lucky) it was due to amazing defensive skill and intelligent play.
