AHAHAHA Lampard is fat?? Are you kidding me? He's nowhere near fat so unless you're a twig like Crouch, i wouldn't call the fat card on him. Lampard is fit, full stop.
As for Beckham being the best player... have you been watching the games lately? The guy can barely cross properly anymore, let alone take free kicks, can't defend, and has little pace. If any player deserves best player it's Gerrard, and the next best is most certainly not Becks. Beckham is very much like Ronaldo, great back in the day but a bit of a has-been now. |
it was a joke about lampard being fat, it's just a joke, of course he's fit. he's just ing useless. |

| watch out for teams like argentina to exploit robinson...hes a good shot stopper...but on crosses and short quick passes in the box he can be a little suspect. |

Robinson is ing rubbish lol He barely moved for those goals. It was like watching a mannequin in goal. England's biggest downfall, most of the time, is their goalkeeping. |
Only lately! Seaman was brilliant in the 96 Euro and 98 World Cup and at least kept England in it. I'm sorry for him that Ronaldinho's fluke goal in 2002 is what he'll be remembered for most in an England jersey though. And Calamity James in 2004? Let's not go there. But Peter Shilton, who was England goalie from the early 70s until 1990 was one of the best of his time. And Gordon Banks of the 60s was probably the best goalie of all time. He made what Pele called the greatest save ever in the 1970 World Cup against Brazil.
But Robinson has looked hesistant and almost...stunned back there since the T and T game. That won't do. A keeper must always be moving and trying to anticipate and above all, be decisivie with balls in the air! |

its because of his height, also his reach and punching skills leave a lot to be desired. |

Yeah that's why i said most of the time, rather than always. Seaman wasn't bad when he started, but like you said, it's unfortunate he'll be remembered for that goal.
And lol @ James. I'm just hoping Robinson isn't going down that same road because he's showing indications of rubbishness right now. He needs to step it up a little if he doesn't want to get murdered by the English press. |

| I think it's safe to say that when they put on that red and white jersey, something strange happens to them. I watch a lot of EPL and Lampard does not disappear for Chelsea the way he does for England. Robinson does not flail around and stand on his line stunned like an old senile person while playing for Tottenham. Gerrard is beginning to show his Liverpool form the last two games and Rooney always plays with fire. But there is obviously so much pressure on these guys to win, I kinda feel sorry for them sometimes. |

if Lampard buried a few of those long range shots, you guys wouldn't be talking about his game in a negative way now.
Lampard does a lot for England. I personally think Gerard is a better player, but Lampard does a lot of little things at the back. If you say that to have them both in the middle England wont win is an understatement. England does have a strong chance this year, I just think that goaltending is their key weakness. They don't have the Didas or Lehnmans. Robinson is a just above average goalie. He is no Peter Shilton or Dave Seaman.
Anyway, my point was that all this bashing of Lampard isn't worth it. He's always a dangerous force in the middle and comes back to help out at the back. You can't ask from his more than what he's doing. Yes, sometimes he has bad games. That's every player. Ronaldinho also had a bad game this tournament. It happens to everyone. But everytime he's on that pitch, he's dangerous in every way, you don't cover him properly and he'll make you pay! |

I really do hate not being able to watch the full game though. I will be able to get in either the first or second half but not both:( |
