First half
Irish international Ronnie Obrien might be giving that crossing ability that Toronto's wing lacks. Heck, he's former MLS all star...
Not liking how through centre defence throughballs and crosses make through. Defenders aren't speedy, plus Brennan is a midfielder naturally. Marking in set piece is suspect too. I think Toronto needs to invest in a centre defender
Dichio is winning like 4 out of 5 headers coming his way. Goooo English game!
I dunno... But I'm not sold on Andy Welsh's game. Has moments of btiliances, but loses the ball often in left flank.
I think it's very apt that Dichio who's been probably the hardest working player for Toronto gets the first goal for Toronto. Nice short passing play to setup the goal
Another defensive blunder leads to Chicago goal. Very classy strike by Chris Rolfe. Unfortunately, shows that defence needs work badly. Nobody at the edge of the box to clear the ball.
Sutton is a solid keeper. Made some really good saves so far this season for Toronto FC. I think he's worth the #1 slot.
MLS really has to look at how the goalies are being treated. They are not gods FFS. Foul is a foul yes. Strong challenges should be allowed if the ball is in the air. That Dichio send off is BS, if you're used to the European game
I think Toronto clearly controlled the game for first half. They dictated tempo and attacked from all sides of the field. Passing is coming through as the players know a bit better. That 2 weeks of practice did really good.
Defence is still problematic as Chicago threats came from some miscues in the back.
Second half
I'm liking Maurice Edu as well. Shows a lot of potential being at the right place at the right time to get a shot on goal.
Toronto owned the opening mins of 2nd half and got awarded after hardwork by Ronnie Obrien which led to Goldwaite goal. Short passing play again
Edson Buddle played well. Worked his ass off as small striker and set up 2 goals. Good day's work.
The tall striker, quick small striker combo seems to work
Edu gets rewarded for his persistent effort after clinical finish from a cross by youngster Lombardo. Very nice.
Overall good game for Toronto FC. They've pretty much controlled the game all the way, esp. 2nd half when the pace and the passing play cut open Chicago defence. Defence was shaky a bit, but Chicago offence was very weak for most part.
It will be interesting what Johnston will do to replace Dichio at front on Wed vs Houston. That Lombardo kid looked pretty strong up front.

ah u were with some dude with short hair and a dress shirt. i walked passed u, quick look at ur boobs, contemplated the ask but said it. so many there that day, couldnt restrict myself to just urs and my gfs. next time ill say hi tho |

Dear Rachel,
There is no doubt about it; Toronto FC has the greatest fans in the MLS. The atmosphere and energy that was on display last Saturday not only rivals any sporting event in this city – but ranks right up there with soccer stadiums across the globe. The players and coaches have been praising the efforts of our supporters and each and every TFC fan in attendance should feel a part of that historic win. It was truly an All for One effort!
In only two games, Toronto's BMO Field has been established as one of the most difficult and intimidating places for visiting teams to travel to, but it must be everyone's responsibility to ensure this reputation is for the right reasons. The Stadium and Club will be taking a very hard line on the following infractions:
- Throwing projectiles of any kind onto the playing field
- Fans entering the field of play
- Any action that jeopardizes the safety of the players, officials or fans
Persons found guilty of any of the above will be banned from the stadium and will face immediate prosecution. However, as loyal fans to our team, let's take it upon ourselves to ensure that our Club and Home are treated with the respect it deserves.
Once again, thanks for being the loudest, proudest and greatest fans in the league, now let's prove we are also the classiest!

Yeah. I thought all the frisbee cushion throwing was a bit terrible.
If Toronto FC keeps this All for One slogan thing going, is the official chant going to be that Bryan Adams tune? :D (FFS. We need a team chant. Any chant)
Anyone going to a pub to watch the game @ 3:30 in Toronto? I plan on being in town and catching the game somewhere... |

Toronto squeaks a 1-0 win against defending MLS champs Houston Dynamos.
Game started like both teams playing kindergarten football, but as the game settled down, Toronto began to dominate overall. A Ronnie Obrien cross from set piece and Andy Welsh header was the winning goal from first half.
Some defensive blunders by both teams as Houston and Toronto had breakaway chances and open shots on net. Gotta put away those. Greg Sutton made couple of huge saves in the first half to keep a clean sheet.
Defending again the problem for Toronto FC...
Andy Welsh deserved the man of the match award as he created a lot from the left flank. Good pace and dribbling skills, but his passing and crossing leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm really liking Marvell Wynne on rightback. He's got vision and pace to go forward and I don't think he's made major mistake on defence yet.
Youngster Lombardo was solid coming on as substitute. If he keeps his up, he's going to be a solid player.
Overall, not the most polished game, but a win for Toronto nonetheless.
Is it me or did Houston play like they were portuguese team or something? they went down a bit too easy, although the pitch was slippery |
