The squad will suck until Mo will get fired or resign imo before it starts playing well and have a chance to compete for mls cup.
both atiba and julian can come to play for toronto if money offered exceeds what they are getting now. atiba is only getting roughly 150,000-200,000 for his services, that's nothing. toronto is a huge market for soccer and it'll only grow. if they pay him say 400,000 to bring him here i'm sure he'll stay for a long time and help the team succeed. julian on the other hand will prolly stay in spain. but my point wasn't just those two. there are many other canadians who are playing oversees who aren't getting paid much but are better players than most of these mls lurkers coming in plus toronto fc has a different rule about foreign players playing for them as they want to promote more canadians. i think it's 11 canadians that must be on the team as oppose to only i believe 3 that are on other mls squads. and my point wasn't about just those 3 old dudes coming in to play here, there are a lot of other retired players who would love to play here if the money is good.
i'm anxious to see who the young local talent will be representing the team since i played against or with most of those guys. i hope they don't take marco casalinvovo. i'd take matt palleschi though, exceptional striker! |

ok you can put rafa benitez himself behind the toronto fc bench, what's the point? When you have , it's hard to work with and gel anything. |

I'm an England fan. Our team has some of the best talent in the world. Without decent leadership, the talent means .
Let's see what good leadership, some talent and some mega keenness will do.... |

It's not all about the money.
Like I said, you can play for less money in Europe (more prestige) or you can play for more money MLS which is getting better in quality, but nowhere near the level of decent leagues in Europe.
As for teams with 'ty' players doing well, have a look at Greece Euro04, South Korea WC02, PSV (which continues to do well domestically and CL wise without 'big name' players), Palermo in Serie A, Bolton in EPL, Osasuna in La Liga last year, etc.
A good manager can win games, even with 'ty' players. (Hence why Guus Hiddink is so valued as a manager) |

| begging old players out of retirement to come and play at toronto is not the sort of option a manager wants to take, its rarely happend in the past and it wont change |

I won't be able to commit to a full season (Argos + BlueJays is more than enough season tickets for me).
I would however be interested in hitting up a few games once the schedule is released. |
