TFC looking at 34yr old former Serbian international Savo Milosevic.

Could be a good signing. Proven goal scorer in top leagues in Europe and brings leadership quality, but is on his last legs.

if TFC can sign him for cheap (he's free agent right now) it'd be good. But he's not worth designated player status

make that his VERY last legs Yohan. Last I saw of him in La Liga he couldn't move and that was a while back.

If Milosevic can put the ball in the back of the net, he'd be good. TFC can create chances, but just can't put them away

Crazy game.

TFC played their balls off for a 2-2 draw after being down 2-0. Helluva finish by Dichio on the 90th min. That New England goal from their own half was :wtf:
EvilTree
yay pitch invasion!

thank you TFC for a fun year of footy, even if it was bloody frustrating to watch at times

Best game of the year in my opinion. I will miss the games, can't wait till next season!

Yay for TFC goals

Went to my first TFC game this past Saturday. Awesome experience! Way better than hockey and bball (and of course, baseball *yawn* in my opinion). Cricket ftw, though. :p

I don't understand the idea of a 'draft' - can anyone explain in layman's terms?

So, I only know how to explain this in Hockey terms, even though I am huge TFC fan....so here goes:

There will be a group of players eligible for the draft either by age or because of the league they play in. Maybe in the MLS they sign up for the draft since players come from all over the world and from different leagues.

Depending on where teams placed the year before determines their order of picking. Usually, the last place team picks first and so on. Then at the time of the draft teams pick eligible players in order until the draft is over. This way the last place team gets first shot at the young talent...potentially the future superstars. Once the teams pick a player they have the rights to that player for a set amount of time to try to sign them to a contract.

I am not entirely sure how the MLS draft works, but I am sure it is something like this.

I think that's how it works.

Here is the draft order list for the first 4 rounds:
http://www.mlsnet.com/mls/events/su...2008/search.jsp

Essentially a draft is use to allocate minor league players to a major league team.

Usually its the worst team picking first to try and even the playing field. The worst team would inevitably pick the best minor league player etc.

Teams can trade draft picks when they make actual trades. You can see that for Toronto FC in the first round, we actually had the 2nd pick overall but we ended up trading it during the year.
