Also, i know that serbians HATE people from Kosovo (among other people like croatians, bosnians, the list goes on,,, they hate everyone), so why do they care if Kosovo is independent from serbia?? A normal country would want independece from their enemy.... Not serbia, they bitch about the fact instead.

are you serious dude? abused and beaten?
where do you think serbs were during WW2? on some all inclusive vacation? 300,000-700,000 serbs were murdered in croatian concentration camps alone, but whatever, im not going to rant about all the other conflicts and "blow out of proportion"
the reason why we're vocal about our cause is because we as a people and culture are being pushed away into obscurity and if we dont speak out about it who will? if anything we should be complaining more and maybe then you'll start to recognize the severity of what is happening with our country and treat it with the same respect that you do other human tragedies (ie. the holocausts)
but like you said, you dont know or dont care, so why are you posting here and passing judgement on a country's history and people who you have no knowledge about? how do you possibly know if we're blowing things out of proportion or not if you dont know anything? |

then i dont get it .. wouldnt you WANT to be separated from those people if they are your worst enemy
and yeah i know its tragic... it is..i just read up on the situation a bit and its friggin horrible how many priceless buildings were destroyed that cant really be rebuilt and wont ever have the same significance ...... any type of war is tragic.. but one side always has to give in and be the bigger person. |

Yeah, it seems logical to just separate and go our own way but the way most serbs see it is whats next? If we have no say over whats done with our cultural capitol, then whats to stop western powers from carving up serbia as they see fit. The population as a whole is feeling very vulnerable and not to mention the serb minority in kosovo who's fighting to survive each day. I wish I could find an article for you that was done for the Saturday Sun by Scott Taylor that paints the kosovo picture quite accurately. Here's a youtube vid of Scott speaking at the Kosovo rally back in march...yeah i know, him speaking at a anti-kosovo independence rally might sound bias, but check it out, its just 3 minutes.

I know this whole thread may seem like a bunch of finger pointing, but consider this for a minute. We can all agree that terrorism is a crime against humanity and we should all care when it comes to preventing it. Well its important to note that the people who are running kosovo are nothing more than members of the UCK, a well documented terrorist organization who have ties with Al Qaeda. These criminals, because that is what they are, are responsible for using kosovo as a strategic point to smuggle heroin from Afghanistan in to Western Europe along with trafficking women, weapons and god knows what else. Not only is the Kosovo government run by a bunch of crooks, but they're racist and actively trying to drive out (through kidnappings and murder) any non-albanian minorities that are left in Kosovo. |

So as a pole it doesnt bother you that parts of Poland are still in Ukraine and Belarus, and you don't see a parrallel with the Serbian situation? |

Not at all. lol why would it..as a matter of fact its the first i hear about it LOL cuz its irrelevant to my life..and i go there usually twice a year and i never heard of that . but . even if i lived there.. i would be living in warsaw right in the middle away from that. so who cares |

Point of her argument was that the US steps into the internal affairs of foreign countries ONLY when there is a gain to be had, or when they have their own ends to serve, NOT where there is a genuine need for them to be there simply for the sake of humanitarian aid and international policing. |
