Kosovo - Independent Coutry...WTF?!?!

Not sure if you guys have heard about this but on Feb, 17, 2008. Kosovo unilaterally declared independence on Sunday (February 17) and became recognized as the world's 195th country. The United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and other countries have officially recognized Kosovo as an independent country. With international recognition, Kosovo meets the criteria for independent country status and became one of the world's newest countries. Nonetheless, Serbia continues to claim that Kosovo remains a Serbian province and Russia and China are against the declaration.
This is a very sad day for me, as well as my fellow Serbs. I hate the U.S. and Bush is the biggest ing retard on this planet!!!
My opinion on all of this:
It's no different than the Americans to come here and proclaim Quebec as a sovereign nation... Could you even imagine what the consequences with that would be??!!?? A French President tried that in the early 60's and he basically politically assinated himself...
The difference between Quebec and Kosovo is simply this...French have always occupied the region within Quebec and Serbians have always occupied the region of Kosovo, however it's the gypsie Albanians who want an independant Kosovo and are now goona get it... They'll probably be sucked up by Albania in the distant future...
It's wrong, so so wrong, for another nation to step into another's internal affairs like the Americans always do as history has shown us... What's next? Is it Quebec? Is it Chechnya? Why not Cypress??? They successfully split the nations of Korea and Yugoslavia, have destroyed the country of Iraq, continue to threaten North Korea and Iran, support a war lead Isreal and yet do nothing for the ailing Africans... A nation that would never entertain the idea of a sovereign Texas (the LONE Star state), infact would no doubt try any person who suggested such a notion with treason and would get the death penalty...
So all I can ask of anyone is this -- Who is the world's biggest terrorist? Sure ain't Bin Laden to me! |

i know how you feel, i feel the same. but i wouldnt touch this thread with a 10 ft pole cause i know its gonna get nasty and i dont wanna get pissed off even more. but somehow i think i will..

Are you talking about Charles de Gaulle? Politically assassinated himself? I think he was controversial, but the French consider him one of their most influential leaders and pretty much a hero. Didn't they name the Paris airport after him? lol

i care,, i am not serbian but i have friends who are.. i still like to believe the former Yugoslavia is still one country.. I think u also missed on the fact that Slovenia was accusing Croatia of stealing land... i just think all those countries around there are very jealous of Croatia's coastline! As for Kosovo,, u can't even find it on google maps , ahahha, dont'think i will ever go there...

because when you can't do about something, ranting about it isn't going to change the fact
political boundaries change all the time. in another hundred years, who knows. people will accept kosovo as country, as there are loads of countries that were created ever since end of ww1
ps; emotions cloud judgement. nationalism is good and all that, but rarely people making decisions based upon nationalism make sound ones |
