Looks like Iran is the only country thats willing to make a move and try to help the people inside Gaza. |
i really hope they dont ... i hate when iranian politicians feel the need to help Palestinians. Let the Arab world take care of it. Iran has far more important problems to deal with > Iranians. |

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - A Swedish Red Cross official says Israeli soldiers have deliberately attacked ambulances during the offensive in Gaza.
Christer Zettergren says seven ambulances operated by the Red Crescent were damaged last week in the attacks. He told reporters in Stockholm today that the ambulances were fired upon by Israeli soldiers.
Zettergren called the shootings "very deliberate."
He will travel to the Middle East tomorrow to donate 10 ambulances to the Red Crescent.
The Swedish Red Cross and private broadcaster TV4 collected money for the vehicles in a joint fundraiser.

An Experiment in Provocation
Stealing Gaza
By BRIAN ENO
It's a tragedy that the Israelis - a people who must understand better than almost anybody the horrors of oppression - are now acting as oppressors. As the great Jewish writer Primo Levi once remarked "Everybody has their Jews, and for the Israelis it's the Palestinians". By creating a middle Eastern version of the Warsaw ghetto they are recapitulating their own history as though they've forgotten it. And by trying to paint an equivalence between the Palestinians - with their homemade rockets and stone-throwing teenagers - and themselves - with one of the most sophisticated military machines in the world - they sacrifice all credibility.
The Israelis are a gifted and resourceful people who fully deserve the right to live in peace, but who seem intent on squandering every chance to allow that to happen. It's difficult to avoid the conclusion that this conflict serves the political and economic purposes of Israel so well that they have every interest in maintaining it. While there is fighting they can continue to build illegal settlements. While there is fighting they continue to receive huge quantities of military aid from the United States. And while there is fighting they can avoid looking candidly at themselves and the ruthlessness into which they are descending.
Gaza is now an experiment in provocation. Stuff one and a half million people into a tiny space, stifle their access to water, electricity, food and medical treatment, destroy their livelihoods, and humiliate them regularly...and, surprise, surprise - they turn hostile. Now why would you want to make that experiment?
Because the hostility you provoke is the whole point. Now 'under attack' you can cast yourself as the victim, and call out the helicopter gunships and the F16 attack fighters and the heavy tanks and the guided missiles, and destroy yet more of the pathetic remains of infrastructure that the Palestinian state still has left. And then you can point to it as a hopeless case, unfit to govern itself, a terrorist state, a state with which you couldn't possibly reach an accommodation.
And then you can carry on with business as usual, quietly stealing their homeland.

I thought this thread had disappeared for good...:)
I agree with the notion that there are a lot of Jewish folks that do not agree with what is going on..they should not all be painted with the same brush..
I think it is a travesty to always agree with a side based on your affiliation to that side...going against the grain is a human trait that i admire so much..it tells me that you have the ability to think with your head and decipher between right/wrong....these are the types of people that are not scarred by hate and bias....i have much respect for those in the Jewish community that are able to stand up and be heard... |

I'm not bothering with the UN thing and video - simply because I expect it's the same circular crap.
As for your picture of the American Neturei Karta offshoot (those would be the pictures of the Orthodox Jewish guys in the pictures), that the ones that advocate like those in the picture are frowned upon even by the other portions of their group. They're run by the nephew (if I recall correctly) of the founding rabbi of Neturei Karta, and serve no purpose outside of making an absolutely garbage name for their group and Orthodox Jews.
Those who rally and protest and all that nonsense are damaging the name of what Neturei Karta represent (which is anti-zionist, but by no means would rather "side with Ahmedinejad" or do anything else quite as ridiculous). This offshoot is NOT accepted by the Orthodox community by any means, and is NOT respected. They hold radical values which don't encompass anything Jewish and really anything they say is ridiculous propaganda. They are not go-tos for information by any means.
The *ACTUAL* Neturei Karta are a respectable group who don't agree with religious or secular zionistic views, but aren't idiots and don't hold such dumb and contrary views. In fact, I think someone posted a video of one of the NK-USA members talking in here or in a past thread - and I can tell you for fact that 3/4 of what he claims is complete and utter garbage.
You should learn the difference between zionism and religious zionism first and foremost, then notice your further contradiction when you say "this has nothing to do with religion" when synagogues throughout the world have been damaged and vandalized over the last few weeks.
You should also note that I'm not the most 'zionistic' of Jews (again, go REALLY learn the definition). I, nonetheless, view what's going on as a legitimate war and think it needs to be resolved in one way or another - not just pushed under the rug again. I *HATE* extremism with a passion. You ought to recognize that the Palestinian side isn't entirely innocent. And the attempts at provocation from Lebanon are also rather childish attempts at creating a bigger war. They *WANT* Israel destroyed (and everyone in it), and *many* (not all) will cover their baseless hatred for Jews with what they claim is 'anti-zionism'. Again, look at what's been done to synagogues as well as what the Pope reinstated just the other day. Get your head out of the dirt and stop posting so much garbage. |
