I(ve never done them cuz they didnt look like theyd be as effective as some other exercises. Who likes, dislikes. Im thinkin of seein what they are bout, but dont want to waste time and energy on something pointless. |
Good exercise. Can either work your chest or tri's, depending on how you do them, but definitely some of both no matter how you do them. They also hit your abdominals because you're using them to stabilize your back. |

apparently not too great as they only work on the muscle for a small portion of the movement |

| i like pullovers, but on a machine. at my gym they have a pullover machine and it really hits the muscles good. it can also help with your lats on the machine...thats for sure...i bet if you did it on a cable rig they would work good too... |

| I sorta skimmed through this thread so pardon me if I'm repeating anything, but for those of you asking what the fastest way to put on muscle mass without roids: hit the squats hard. When your core grows, the rest of you wants to grow with it (I've had the science behind this explained to me, but I really can't remember the details =P). |

its the only anabolic exercise - its the only exercise that makes your body produce a growth hormone. |

| My cardiovascular system has to be in above average shape for me to get the most out of barbell squats. I would always be too out of breath to do them so I just did squats on the Smith Machine so I could isolate my quads better instead of using all kinds of stabilizer muscles and becoming too out of breath to continue. I was really lacking in aerobic excercise back then. |

| the reason the barbell squats are anabolic is because it utilizes your entire body. While a machine my isolate and help develop the quads specifically, it will not help the rest of you grow, like squats. |

i think deadlifts also release that hormone. but yes when you do squats and deadlifts...your other lifts will grow also. you have to utilize the three basic compound movements, and then work the rest of your routine around them. squats, deadlifts, and bench press = growth. after that, its up to you. |
