One of these days I'd like to visit Australia. There's an assignment actually out in Learmonth. It's solar weather stuff. not really my forte, and I know Learmonth is in the middle of nowhere; but hey, it's Australia, right?
Also, Perth. |

You just love the desert, don't you? :p Though I dunno, I had to Google that... there's nothing around at all, but it's coastal, so not total desert. You'd potentially get some cyclone action in the summer months, I guess.
Try for east coast, man. Really, really do :p |

Summer here in Jan/Feb, you might as well escape your freezing-ass cold winter for a couple of months :p
Which city/cities were you thinking of? |
That's my plan. :p Leaving this for a while would be sweeeet:

I was thinking the east coast, you know Melbourne, Sydney, etc. Anything you would recommend?

I'd go either a month or two, before or after to escape the heat lol |
What kind of temperatures are we talking about? I really like the heat so I don't have much problem with 30+C°. Or is it more like 40°?

Come to Melb in the last week of Jan & then go to Rainbow Serpent Festival |
Yes Dom mentioned it in the random talking thread, it looks interesting. If I go there and I go around that time I really should attend. :)

Perth and Sydney are fine for Jan-Feb, most everywhere else is prone to be silly. |
Silly as in mothafurginating-heat-wave? |

*That kind of describes where I'm currently at. while proximity to water may sound nice, it actually makes life worse. when the seabreeze kicks in and your winds come off the water, your humidty skyrockets. I'm talking heat index values greater than 50C (ambient temps around 45C). this place sucks I can't wait to get back home.lol |

what's your favorite part about living in Australia? Anything in specific? I don't know if y'all have had a chance to live anywhere else for a comparison. |
Quite a lot of Australians are 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation migrants.
I've lived on-off in France, New York, Zimbabwe and Belgium for a few months at a time during my 20's, born in South Africa and raised in England before ending up here as a teenager.
There's a reason I came back... most everywhere else has some kind of severe malfunctions happening with too much regularity or just way too unstable. Economically it has some ups and downs like everywhere else, but never seems to bottom out to the point of absolute collapse.

They get silly, if you head inland at any point, expect to be in the 40C's |

I recommend it to any music fan, it really is the best festival australia has. I have had many friends who i have brought along and now all they talk about all year is the next "rainbow". It will be running from Fri 27th Jan til 30th Jan. http://www.rainbowserpent.net/ |

Hmmmmm you would probably be ok in that case. I get uncomfortable above 30 though so for me it's agony. On the plus side the water temperature is awesome. |

| I am thinking about going to LWC this year if I can wing it. Hopefully Australia doesn't suck. |
