Oh I'm not denying that the Libs overhype their succcess but at least with them there wasn't as much of a cluster than with Labor. Lesser of two evils in my view.
While I lean more to the Coalition side, I have no issues with voting for Labor if they actually give me a reason to. Over the last 3 years, they've made me even less willing to vote for them. |

| Yes but the Australian women's team won their 20-20 final. |

| yeah, I saw that. I think i'm gonna have a man-crush on Alyssa Healy now. Her uncle is a legend, that'd be some family dinner to goto :p It's weird because the england women had won everything in sight til this one, but decided to play like the english men would, and the english men played like the women. I'll take that. |

As for what the Rudd government has failed on:
Hospitals - They are going to generate even more revenue to then give full control back to the states who can't run anything?
Asylum seekers - Totally out of control and terrible policy. It's good to be humane and take in refugees but the ALP is weak in every aspect when it comes to border protection.
Insulation - What a debacle. 5 people dead, multiple injuries to others and millions upon millions of tax payer dollars wasted, and more to come. Garrett was and still is an absolute joke.
ETS - The biggest issue of our times? Really? So why scrap it then until 3 years from now? How about all those dollars spent on Copenhagen? Yea, well done there.
Education revolution - Another absolute disaster. There's so much rorting going on it's hard to keep up. ty 4 post structures with a little roof being built for $850K?!?
NBN & Internet filter - Conroy is rubbish. The filter is moronic and the NBN is too slow. It's a good plan but it's not thought out, it's going to cost too much and they seem to have delayed the report so they could make it look favourable.
Revenue - They absolutely demolished our surplus. Ruined it. Yes the GFC was largely to blame but there's so many things they could have done differently.
You're going to vote back in a government that not only hasn't done anything but have actually gone backwards? Even the bloody unions don't support the ALP anymore!
Rudd has been exposed as a frustrated little nerd who is incapable of running his bunch of monkeys in the ALP who as a collective couldn't run a carnival let alone a country. |
the last decades were actually pretty good LOL... what major international problems did howard really have to face? this is a serious question, i really can't remember, but rudd has already had the economic crisis etc...
good points raised, but really, i think that an attempt is better than nothing.
Rudd has attempted to improve some MAJORLY ed areas of the country, in all of the areas you mentioned in fact.
Not everything can be succesful, but at least he is trying to reform. Howard just sat on his fat ass doing nothing, and called that a success. What did he DO!?! that was my point. Not what did he NOT fail at.
it's not hard to not fail, you just don't try. Rudd is actually attempting to reform some extremely, extremely complicated things. You try and figure out a way to reform our ed up hospital systems... :eyes:
also it's a bit beside the point but concerning our "border security", it's ing ridiculous. I really don't see it as a big issue in Australia. Every developed state in the world, including australia is going to be utterly ed by the problem of the ageing populations... unless everyone starts having 20 kids each, we're going to NEED imigration.
The refugee issue in australia is ing ridiculous, and like the hospitals the reform isn't perfect yet, but it's a CRUCIAL step.
Rudd's not perfect, but at least he doesn't just sit back posing. The greatest thing i think he's done is simply attempting to open relations, and travel. Australia is nothing on the international scene, except as the USA's complete bitch (thanks Howard)... Rudd's discussions with states like China are important because they actually PAY US for our best resources, like coal and uranium... |

Excuse me while I punch you in the sack.
GST is a big piss-off if you're running a small business. Not just the extra tax, but the extra ing paperwork. That said, I never ran a business before it was introduced, so meh. |

One predominant sources game preview involved getting enough wickets to get clarke to the crease, and then keeping him there knowing his slower strike rate would actually help us! He's a great player at test level, but at T20? I dunno. When you see some of the talent that might have played instead, Marsh, Symonds, Hopes etc then you do have to wonder. On the other side, my county team is captained now by Chris Rogers and he's kicking some arse, so you don't all suck :p |

I think he's a rubbish player all round, he never scores runs when we really need him to, his big scores come in bull games and he's a knob. off Michael Clarke. |

Been a long time since I've seen it. Though, it's shocking how much from that movie made it into my vocabulary for random things.
