a) That's funny because yes, we do call it a barbeque in this country, probably 90% of the time.

b) It shows the extent of American ignorance that you thought otherwise.

c) If the word barbeque had never existed in this country, we would still be smart enough to figure our what you wanted without asking you, which is more than can be said for Americans.

:stongue:

let's place a handful of shrimp over the barbecue, shall we friend? look it's ok to be proud of your country, just keep your cliche, ignorant opinions about other cultures to yourself, douche.

pkc, sushi, and narcism are still cool though :p

Maybe I should change the thread title to reflect something a little more positive. Something that will change the world's view of America.

This has got nothing to do with my sense of patriotism (which is rather large), and everything to do with Americans embodying everything that's wrong with the world today, as well as perhaps a touch of anger at the insidious effect your television and world influence are having on such a vast proportion of the common denominator in this country.

Kleenex and Tylenol I'll give you. Along with dozens of other examples...but Hoovers? I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to a vacuum cleaner as a Hoover :wtf:

+1 and...

saying "kleenex" and "tylenol" is just more convenient. "may i have a tissue paper for blowing nose, please?" or "can i get a kleenex nigga?" the difference, while subtle, is there nonetheless.

"mother, may i have some acetaminophen to help relieve my fever and pain from the streptococcus infection that i have incurred upon myself?"

Love of one's country and hate of another are not mutually exclusive.
pkcRAISTLIN
ive never quite understood the whole loving one's country.

I have nothing against United states

but can we ing stop calling it "America"
Alex
Anti-American-Governmentism is one thing.

But hating Americans is rather stupid for the most part.

Hicks and rednecks exist everywhere in the world and are equally useless as the American version.
