I was just saying that the Yanks have turned it around. Last year they lost 22-2 to Cleveland and then won the next day. Last year the Red Sox lost 19-8 in game 3 and then won the next 4 games to take the series. One game doesn't mean anything. Trends do... but baseball is a season of peaks and valleys...

And I was being tongue in cheek about the 200 million...

whoa buddy hold it right there
just a pet peeve of mine...

it was 22-0
not 22-2

i like to remember EXACTLY all the bad losses the yanks suffer

because you're a pathetic, insecure Boston fan who, despite finally getting a trophy, still has the overwhelming feeling of living in the Yankees shadow of greatness and history?;)

First of all, my oh my, San Diego Padres are on a roll. They finished the month of May with a 22-6 record.

I am still hoping Cleveland Indians will rebound big time (slowly improving), I can smell them going on a roll soon, dont forget I predicted them to win their division this year before the season started.

As for my Braves ... WOW ... they are struggling big time. Bullpen blew it up again too. I have a bad feeling this wont be the year Braves win their another consecutive division. Here's a quote from MLB.com:

"Offensive problems have plagued the Braves all season. They came into the game ranked 15th of 16 teams in the National League in hitting with a .250 team average, ahead of only the punchless Astros (.239). The Braves know what the problem is -- they just have to work their way through it somehow."

I'm surprised the Nats have been keeping up with Atlanta. With so many people out on injury i'm surprised they took the first two games. Still it's a better statistic than the lousy Expos last year.

tonight at 7:05pm, i'll be watching and rooting for the Nationals again.

Well the Nats just threw away a 2 run game. what a pisser. Brad Wilkerson said that by beating the Braves tonight, it would show that Washington is for real, however he was talking about their ability to hit against Smoltz. Considering the fact Atlanta got their last 3 runs after Smolts retired, i wonder if Wilkerson's point is still valid.

Wow what a great rally by the Braves tonight against the Nats in the top of the 8th, and then a come-from-behind rally in the bottom of the 8th by the Nats to win the game!

See this is why i watch baseball :toocool: . Can't wait to see some Nationals in action this summer at RFK.

Hmm...maybe I spoke too soon about the Yankees being back. This current bunch puzzles me...they look like the 96-2001 Yankees some nights with solid pitching and overpowering offense...then they look like a feeble bunch of old men waving pieces of thin cardboard around up there. Arod, I'm afraid, is just not a clutch hitter. Getting rid of Soriano might have been a very bad move. Jeter can't carry this team on his own...Matsui isn't the player he was the last two years. Sheffield cant' hit a breaking ball to save his life.

The pitching is at best, mediocre. the Big Unit? The New york press is calling him the Big Useless. Pavano is inconsistent, Mussina is too old and was never that dominant anyway...Brown? bah...Wang has a bright future at least.

See Yankee haters? throwing money around doesn't guarantee success. In fact, since their payroll exceeded 100 million, they have not won the World Series. I don't understand how a 200 million dollar team can lose straight, win 10, then 16 of 18 and then lose 5 straight with 3 of those being to the worst team in baseball. It's unnerving.

I might be wrong, but I think by August, the Yanks will be out of the playoff race unless something really nice happens (like getting Clemens back and/or making a big deal).

WOW ... Braves bullpen blew it again. Leading 6-3 in the 8th inning, it gave up 5 runs (Kolb, BLEW IT AGAIN, I HATE HIM SO MUCH). They're struggling big time right now. II havent seen Braves play this bad ever. Its impressive enough that they're still 29-24. f they win the division this year, it will be a miracle. I am really disappointed in my team - but I am still rooting hard and hoping for the best. The whole NL East is .500 or better and all teams are separated by less than 3 games. Never seen that in baseball before.

Hehe, Yankees getting swept by The Royals. Man, as I said before, its really interesting to watch Yankees lose in the strangest ways. Either blowouts or getting swept by low teams. I am gonna through some facts at you: Yankees payroll 260 million vs. Royals payroll 40 million. Royals sweep Yankees for the first time in 15 years. This series marked the first time Royals have swept a team in the past 78 of their series.

Alright, time to have some fun here ...

QUESTION: "What is the only Major League team without a single extra-inning game this season?"

Winner = Respect & 1 Point.
SlackerBoy9
i am going out on a limb and saying the devil rays have no extra inning games...next guess being the padres
