I think only the Cubs fans are stupid enough to think like that if it woudve happen to them , lol |

| Im not entirely convinced that the ball was caught cleanly. When they showed the replay zoomed in, in one frame the ball was very close to the dirt and in the next it was up a few inches in the catchers glove. Either it hit the ground and bounced up or it went up after hitting the glove on the ground. Too close to call really though. The catcher should have definitely tagged him so that there is no doubt that Pierzynski is out. ChiSox got a break on this one. Both teams have been playing poorly but the Sox have been just abysmal. The only 2 runs scored were unearned, theyve got like 1 hit with risp and baserunning is just terrible. Guillen needs to get his guys fired up or they are going to lose this thing. |

yep they also showed on sports center how this same mistake happened to A.J when he was catching last year vs the Red Sox, he without a doubt learned from that.
The Umpire is human, alot of you mightve thought that was obvious catch, but you have a better view and replays, in the heat of the battle the ball was so close to the ground, you can understand what the Ump saw.Like Protege said, the catcher should ALWAYS tag out the batter just to be safe. |

Ugh ... missed both games yesterday working late plus I worked 4AM-11AM today. Thats the delay. I see a lot of controversy going on here, KEEP IT UP! So Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in their series and White Sox squeezed one out to level their series.
As for what happens in the pool standings, then we have slight changes, as the seasaw battle for the leader continues as Dj2kTA is now the leader in both points and wins after yesterday's games, as he and Protege both went 2-0 to get the maximum 8 points possible on the day!
1. dj2kTA - 41 pts (14-4) +8 pts
2. verndogs - 39 pts (13-5) +4 pts
3. Protege - 35 pts (12-6) +8 pts
4. Eddie N MIAMI - 25 pts (10-6) +6 pts
5. Magnetonium - 24 pts (9-7) +4 pts
5. Member of X - 24 pts (9-7) +4 pts
7. Mebot - 23 pts (9-9) +4 pts
8. Acid Circus - 21 pts (8-8) +4 pts
9. SlackerBoy9 - 19 pts (7-8) +2 pts
10. Dj Smitty20 - 17 pts (7-9) +4 pts
11. Shamez214 - 11 pts (4-11) +0 pts

theres a lot of people on the band wagon. but there's still those cubs fans rooting against the sox. there was an article in the newspaper over the weekend from a cubs fan going on about how the cubs fans should stand united against the sox. a couple of the people at work are cubs fans but they're rooting for the sox. i have a couple people in my family that are cubs fans and they called me last night after the game to accuse the sox of paying off the umps. my response, "we dont even pay our players, why would we pay off the umps?" :p |

the astros win !
oswalt pitches 7 strong innings, and that is all lidge needs to pitch lights out against the cardinals .. as long as the astros keep it close by the 7th or 8th innings, lidge can help the astros shut the door .
as much as i like iggy, i would almost take lidge as my top reliever anyday, behind of course rivera .. lidge is close to mariano rivera late 90s status .. |

Theres a lot of people who are "its a Chicago team, they're all we've got at this point".
My buddy lives on the North side. I'll have to ask him what its like up there.
I know that when the Cubs were in it a couple years back I was rooting against them. The way I figure, if my teams not in it I sure as hell dont want to hear "The Cubs won it last year, the Sox didnt do ".
I even dressed as Steve Bartman on Halloween right after that whole thing went down. It was golden. |

Is it just me or did the home plate umpire in the Cardinals/Astros series completely suck both games in St. Louis? First game he was calling way below the knees and second game he was very inconsistant on the outside corners.
Anyways, Nice playing by the Stro's tonight. They're exactly on plan as I thought they would be. I didn't expect a win against Carpenter for the 1st game. I say Houston in 7 games. Its destiny after that 18 inning game, destiny I tell you. |
