preston wilson to the nationals? I saw that little clip on the espn page 2 daily quickie
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/quickie
I dunno if he'll be a big factor in a pitcher firendly park, but kudos to Jim Bowden for making a move |

what is this ?? .. what are we going to hear next ?? the nationals are going to reveal that jim bowden isn't the gm, but really working under dan snyder ... :wtf: ..
imo, a bad move from the nationals .. i like preston wilson's power numbers, but his very high strikeout numbers isn't what the nationals want at the moment .. especially when the braves, marlins, and mets are trailing behind them .. all three teams are good pitching teams, so they can exploit wilson whenever they want . |

Well i think one of the reasons we're trying to get Wilson is to help relieve Wilkerson in outfield. Brad has been playing pretty much nonstop this entire season.
Rotate Wilky to first base and let him get some rest, put Wilson in center field and keep marlon byrd and ryan church as key reserves. |

| then again, Wilson could be getting those power hits from the thin air in Denver! :p |

| Nationals need a frontline starting pitcher ,someone who can eat innings badly...They need to get Cordero and that bullpen some rest before they start to implode |

We just signed free agent Mike Stanton to the bullpen. It gives us another left-handed pitcher besides Eischen to pitch.
Don't know whether he's going to be starting anytime soon, but he'll be able to start relieving hopefully tomorrow against the Brewers. |

a great pick up. stanton was one of the key pitchers during the late stretch of yankee world series' wins .. he helped their bullpen a lot for the 6th/7th/8th inning works, so rivera is healthy for the 9th. |

he'll definitely benefit from pitching from RFK stadium...
but i don't see him more than a situational lefty |

yeah same here.. he'll probably just be put in like leopold said during the 6th, 7th, 8th innings to help out "the Chief" Cordero in the 9th.
Still though, Bowden has constantly said that more pitching, more pitching, more pitching.. so i forsee some more trades or acquisitions later for the bullpen. |

and the A's are still red hot
taking a perfect game and a no-hitter in the 8th inning on back to back nights? :eyespop: |
