Too bad the Yanks failed to sign Eric Milton considering he would have fit in with the other free agent bust pitchers they got.

Hey... he had a 0.00 ERA for the Mets this year.

A hero one minute.... a goat the next. When your fastball goes from 99-100 mph to the next day at 95-96... major leaguers eventually catch up to it. You got to mix it up...

Oh yeah, Konerko is making himself a lot of money this post-season.

Seems like the White Sox are running away with it for the time being.
Astros are surely in the hole right now, and frankly, they should be just happy to be in the WS. Lidge Lidge Lidge ...

I'll update the pool standings at the end of the playoffs. This will be the first time in 4 years of the pool someone picks the winner!

probably one of the best playoff games I've ever seen

All the elements of a classic nail biting 9th inning complete with the :wtf: ending

I want this baby to go to 7 games

interesting how no one cared about the sox in the regular season until the indians were catching up...i say catching up carefully becuase they were the hottest team in baseball, so the sox wern't collapsing (though they wernt playing their best) the indians were just incredible.

then the sox made it to the playoffs and had no chance against boston...they kinda swept them

then they had no chance against the angels...they're gone

now, no one cares about the world series cus the sox are a 'worthless team'

just because the sox dont have some superstar player that everyone knows (that comes up short in the playoffs anyway) doesnt mean the sox suck...in fact, they're a pretty amazing team when you stop and think about it. How about their starters? The bullpen? The closer? They also not only can hit the ball out of the park, but they're fast. They move players around the bases and have excellent defense.

So stop chanting Manny! Manny! BIG PAPI!!!! YEAH!!!!! and start appreciating what this team is about. Yeah, manny and ortiz hit homers in the post season, and everyone went nutts. WHere are they now? not in the world series. If you're a baseball fan, you cant not appreciate who the white sox are. Quit lookin for big names and start lookin at how the game is played. these guys know how to play and any fan of baseball would tell you that this chicago team is fun to watch!

No. I just don't think the White Sox are THIS good. I guess we'll have to wait till next year to see if I'm right or not. I think they played way over their heads this year, especially the starters, and I think they're just one of those teams that got hot at the right time (ie: Post Season).

And Paul Konerko isn't a big name?

I think the White Sox have been playing like champions but they have surely been the benefit of many blown calls...but sometimes, winners just get those. Remember the Jeffrey Maier/Jeter home run in 96? IN the same breath, both the Yanks and Angels got ed....and Houston sure got ed on that hit batsman call. Baseball is going to eventually have to realise they need instant replay when umps don't all agree...it's so simple!

Houston, I don't think, are done just yet...but I still think Sox in 6. on with hockey and the EPL (and death to basketball!)

I rather be lucky than good.

With instant replay, I wonder how they'll implement it if they have it in the future

With regards to Instant Reply i agree with Mike Scioscia's comment during the ALCS, that it should not be used for the infield, but more for foul balls and outfield territory calls.
