Nice link. Gotta corect you, however, his name is spelled Andruw Jones :toothless
As for playoff hunt, everything seems to be about finalized, with exceptions of AL East/AL Wildcard races. Seems like Cleveland is going to be in it, one way or another (the playoffs)

and it looks chicago white sox bats are waking up a bit.
i predict the white sox will get the final wild card spot.
and the loser of the boston-new york brawl for 1st will be out of the playoffs .. :( |

friday before the white sox game i made a bet with my buddy for $50 that the white sox would make the playoffs. after the bet he started talking , "the sox are going to get swept by cleveland and they'll pass your white sox." my response, "you dont have to win the division to go to the playoffs :) ." he tried weasling his way out of the bet but there were too many people that heard it.
with the current trend in baseball you're almost better off being the wild card team than the divisional winner. |

AL East: Boston
AL Central: Chicago
AL West: LA
Wild Card: Cleveland
NL East: Atlanta...easy
NL Central: St Louis...really easy
NL West: SD...under .500
Wild card: Philly |

haha that's pretty funny.
Well the Nationals are officially out of playoff contention, but they had a great inaguaral season, and no one really predicted their year to be this successful. Still I had a great spring and summer cheering them on.
Now on to my Playoff picks:
AL East: Sox
AL Central: Sox
AL West: Angels
Wild Card: Yanks
NL East: Braves
NL Central: Cards
NL West: Padres
Wild card: Astros |

Wow, even though I'm stressing over the Yanks and making my condition a hell of alot worse than it usually is, this has to be one of the closest playoff races I can remember. The AL is just so jammed...a team with 95 or 96 wins might not even make the post season! Insanity.
5 games to go.
Anybody change their predictions? My ideal scenario would be for either the White Sox or Indians to tank badly and one miss the WC leaving it and the East to the Yanks and Red Sox. Or, the Bosox start playing like beer leaguers and miss the playoffs, but I have a feeling that isn't going to happen. |

Man, I am so pissed off I couldn't watch the Braves vs. Rockies NL East clinching game yesterday on TV. I wanted to videotape the moment. :whip: Because you may never know if they extend the streak. Oh well, but I am going to get really drunk and partyin' this weekend anyway!!!
As for ...
AL East is going to be an exciting race that will come down to a big 3 game series in Fenway against the Yankees. :eek: I might watch a game or two :D |

Friggin Blue Jays picked the wrong team to play a spoiler on ... Sigh
I guess the Red Sox will MUST win 2 of 3 at Fenway. I'll have the playoff pool ready by late Sunday the October 2nd (if Red Sox manage to tie the Yankees in standings).

white sox got a big win in the thick of things. but then again, it shouldnt be this close consider the huge lead they had.
the red sox are still tied with the indians for the wild card so you never know whats going to happen. and the yanks are only a game up. it still looks like four teams going after three playoff spots with the yanks and white sox having a leg up on the competition. |
