while those pesky devil rays get blown out a couple of weeks ago by the pittsburgh pirates 18-2 .. :wtf: .. then ol' lou pinella says his team sucks, management doesn't know how to recruit, and life sucks .. :wtf: ..

I've never seen anything like this before. 4 of Braves' 5 starting pitchers are now on disabled list. WOW. Ramirez left the game early yesterday so now he joins Hampton, Hudson with injuries ... Smoltz is the only remaining pitcher from the beginning of the year who was part of the original rotation. And yet Braves win yet again yesterday. Five of last 6 games are W's.

:eyespop: :eyespop: ..
the perfectly good explanation why bobby cox should be considered one of the greatest managers in baseball ever .. he takes lemons, and turns them to lemonades instantly .. :wtf: ..
although he only has 1 world series title .. :( ... he has to be accounted for all those nl east pennants he's been winning continuously . ... |

Hehe, talking about the curse, hehe ... dont forget Bobby and the current Braves general manager were on the Kansas City Royals team that did pretty well in the 1980s, winning a world series title I think. And losing to the Yankees the other time they went that far, I am sure.
Thats why this season I think all other NL East teams are pretty dam sick and tired of being bridesmaid and will do very well. But still, the beautiful thing is, either way Braves win or dont win the division title this year, the talk is going to be all about them in the end. LOL ... if you know what I mean. |

They've got to make the playoffs first. The Phillies are coming on strong and the Nationals still aren't falling back. |

| I am Loving it today...phillies lost 2 straight,Mets are killing the Yankees..all i need are the nationals to lose so some ground can be gained. Before all the nationals fans come out and say anything...if you have been watching the jams they have been getting out of lately..it is only a matter of time before it starts catching up with them...they need one more bat in the line up and a solid middle reliever and to pray cordero doesn't get hurt again like last year.As for the Mets i keep hearing the rumours of them scouting Barry Zito..i don't know if that is a great deal for them unless they can unload Kaz Matsui in turn for prospects before hand.So i am wondering will the yankees start selling off some of the busted parts after the season and maybe go about the way they built that great team they fielded in the late 90's which were prospects and hard nosed veterans(i.e. Paul o'neil) |

just my opinion here .. great picks though ....
AL
First Base: M. Teixeira, TEX
(as much as like him, shea hillenbrand of toronto deserves it more .. 47 runs .304 ba, .362 obp .. pretty good from his afterlife after his boston days backing up nomar .. i can't believe i am choosing him over teixeira and konerko )
Second Base: B. Roberts, BAL
Third Base: H. Blalock, TEX
( i like him also, but i feel a-rod is doing an awesome job right now with the yanks ... )
Shortstop: M. Tejada, BAL
Catcher: J. Varitek, BOS
Outfielder: T. Hunter, MIN
(up and down this season .. johnny damon here )
Outfielder: M. Ramirez, BOS
(no. .. i do think the white sox is overrated, but since they have the "best" record in the ml, posednik goes here .. he's got speed! )
Outfielder: G. Sheffield, NYY
(he's having an off season this year .. he's been up and down .. has his good days and bad days .. ichiro ?? he's been hitting well ... batting average is down a little bit, but he's still top 10 in hits, 7 triples, 18 steals, and a bunch of throw outs .. )
DH: D. Ortiz, BOS (between him and delucci from texas in my opinion .. delucci had a good opening, but has been sliding as of late )
NL:
First Base: D. Lee, CHC (him over pujols right now definately)
Second Base: M. Giles, ATL
(bill hall is doing a remarkable job here .. him and mackowiak at pittsburgh are doing well )
Third Base: A. Ramirez, CHC
( no way .. have you seen mike ensberg from houston ??? he's been blowing it up as of late with houston .. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats...playerID=348563 )
Shortstop: K. Greene, SD
( close one between him and ol' man vizquel in san francisco .. he's doing a solid job there .. )
Catcher: P. Lo Duca, FLA
(close between him and ramon hernandez .. he's also having a solid year)
Outfielder: B. Giles, SD
(andrew jones .. leading the league in home runs .. should be rewarded for that ..)
Outfielder: J. Guillen, WSH
(you forgot miguel cabrera, whose name has been called as a candidate for mvp .. )
Outfielder: C. Lee, MIL
:wtf: .. 2 milwaukee brewers from me !!! .. they have some good talent this year .. was thinking about brady clark ..
long post from me .. |

| nl outfielders in my opinion sucked and i was stuck between tori hunter and scott podsednik...gotta love his steals. My hatred of Pay rod made me choose Blalock.i thought Morgan Ensberg was too inconsistent and my hatred of Andruw Jones also steered me away from picking him.I think playing fantasy baseball kind of guided me on some of the picks |

ditto! ..
how do you think i know about morgan ensberg .. :wtf: ..
i know about him, because he is top 50 in the yahoo baseball league point system right now .. compared to last year when he was in the lower 300s ..
fantasy baseball does alot for your baseball knowledge . hahahaha .. |

i would choose
al: bob wickman
nl: brandon lidge or chad cordero
no one can touch lidge right now .. people are talking about cordero, but lidge has been getting the job done when called upon ..
and wickman does lead the AL in saves (20). an honorable mention is b.j. ryan from baltimore ..
18 saves, but a whooping 55 ks in 34.2 innings .. this guy has been a hardballer .. |

Agreed on Lidge, he is an awesome closer, but I think Issy is doing a great job for the Cards this year. He's got a lower ERA and blown less saves than Lidge and one can argue that his saves mean something as the Cards are actually going for the division win while the Astros are pretty much out of it already! |
