| Hopefully Cards can wrap up NL Central at Wrigley, can't think of a better place to wrap it up at. |

the phillies fans I know are getting ready to have their hearts broken
again
(It's the way of life in Philly) |
It's funny that a lot of people that live near me (in Northern Virginia) are Phillies fans. Reason being, Philadelphia is the closest NL based team to root for. Even when Washington got the Montreal Expos last year, people were still diehard Phillies fans.
I guess holding on to a team and establishing fanship is hard to break and venture onto something new. |

we must win 2night, im not accepting nothing less than a 3 out of 4 against the Astros |
Hehe, I guess I am not the only one who thinks tonight's games are very important. I am going to be glued to TBS tonight, accepting nothing less than a 1 out of 4 against the Phillies :stongue:
As for Philadelphia, that city hasn't won a championship from any of the 4 major north american sports leagues since 1982, when Phillies won World Series.

Hehe, well I live a couple thousand or so kilometres from Atlanta, in fact I've never been there either. I have never really been a fan of Blue Jays. I discovered baseball during October days of 1999, watching Yankees demolish Braves in the World Series. At that time I didnt have a favourite baseball team. When Braves won the division title the next year, I was well impressed and gradually by 2001 they were my favourite team. Will be my favourite, at least for the time Bobby Cox and Schuerholtz will be running the team.

actually 1983, when the 76ers won the NBA title
Phillies won their only world series in 1980
1982 is when the last time the Cardinals won the world series
(knowing useles facts like these will hopefully win me free drinks at a bar one of these days:haha: ) |

some are, some aren't. it's usually the middle-age people that are. I know a lot of people in my own age group (18-24) that are Phillies fans though.
A lot of them bandwagoned over to the Nationals, but i know their true dark secret.
And a sweep of the Mets today keeps us in the playoff race still :toocool: |

Haha, you're right! I guess that bike accident I had last year really shook up my memory ... LOL, just kidding. Thanks for the correction. I should've double checked my "guess", as I just put my thoughts on the forum. I was pretty close though!!
