here comes the oakland A's...again
maybe trading away mulder and hudson wasn't a bad move after all |

Seriously, Wickman had a 108.00 ERA after the first two games this year. Only closer with a higher ERA at that point? Mariano Rivera.
Nathan by a mile. |

Hehe, just imagine how well they would have been doing right now with those two aces. Winning record at least. Wait a minute, Hudson is on disabled list. Still, trading away and letting go of your best players have hurt A's in the biggest way and they will not make the playoffs this year. Nor any time soon the way I see it.

but I think Issy is doing a great job for the Cards this year. |
And what happens the same night I say that? :) |

Mariano Rivera currently has an ERA of 0.94 with 4 wins and 16 saves. He hasn't been touched since those first two games against Boston when his arm strength wasn't built up.
Sorry, I'll take him instead.
Since May 1, Nathan is 0-3 with a 6.61 ERA.
Give Mo some respect! He's also the 2nd ranked closer in Fantasy baseball behind Cordero.

so what about these trade rumors that florida wants to trade a.j. burnett to the red sox for bronson arroyo and a couple of minor leaguers ??
wow !! .. what does florida see in arroyo ?? .. if this trade falls through, this is probably the stepping stone for the red sox to win the division in my opinion .. |

friday....I was at the yankees-mets game sitting behind two fans who were talking really loudly.
one mets and yanks fan were questioning the manhood of all the players. the mets fan were saying about how most of the yankees players were gay. the yankees fan said that piazza didn't go after clemens in 2000 world series because he had a yeast infection. next thing you know we hear this kid next to us ask really loudly, "What's a yeast infection?"
:stongue: :wtf: |

They want to just get someone in return since he has said repeatedly that he is leaving after this season. Most logical place for him to end up is baltimore(lots of bullpen guys and lots of bats).Jason Schmidt to red sox rumours won't die either |

that really coulda bothered his "squating stance" when catching the ball behind the plate .. and he definately would not be "effective" when a baseball player slides in home plate, probably aiming at his "infection" ... :nervous: :nervous: |

Speaking of Cordero, he just got his 25th consecutive win today against the Pirates and tied the MLB record for most saves in a month.
I saw the game last night at RFK (despite the 2 hour rain delay). It was then that i realized i was getting drunk watching rain, and not a baseball game :p
But the Nationals are a core of winning ball players, despite the fact that their stats don't match their winnings. |

the nationals are doing awesome this year ..
they are one trade away from stalling off the braves, marlins, and mets ... i am sorry, but although the phillies do look very good, they will end up last in the division .. that's a tough division ..
if the marlins make that a.j. burnett trade with either boston or new york (there are talks that new york wants to get burnett), likely florida will get the extra edge .. |

the local sports guy here finally said something intelligent. "how many games do the sox have to be over .500 before people start talking about them? 40? 50? and then what, if they get up by too much then people will ignore them and start paying attention to the cubs struggling for the wild card."
does anyone think that san fran will really trade away schmidt? |
